Airsoft Weapon Magazines Information
Airsoft weapons shoot airsoft BBs. These BBs are typically kept in the gun’s mag. These mags generally attach to the airsoft gun very similarly to the real weapons they are imitated. The kinds of airsoft weapon magazines consist of real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines.
Airsoft Weapon Magazine Types
Airsoft weapon magazines can be found in a few kinds like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags. These types most often apply to AEG mags for automatic electric guns. Real capacity magazines, or real-caps, simulate the quantity of airsoft BBs a genuine gun would keep, which is generally around 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability mags, or mid-caps, allow for more airsoft BB storage with capacities around 120 to 160 BBs. High capacity magazines, or high-caps, give airsoft players the greatest storage with over 200 rounds of BB storage volume. Something to keep in mind about high-cap mags is that airsoft fields usually restrict their use during games due to players shooting way too much ammo to spray and pray throughout games.
About How Airsoft Magazines Work
Airsoft magazines have a series of internal channels and BB storage zones. The BBs are usually packed into these channels with a spring attached to the really far end. When the BBs are filled, they compress the spring producing stress. On the load end, a small lock holds the BBs in the mag. When a BB is fired, the airsoft gun releases the lock for a fraction of a second and loads another BB into the weapon out of the mag. HPA, CO2, and GBB guns, which use compressed air or green gas, will often save the gas or feed air in through the magazine. This feeds BBs into the guns for these types of systems.
Airsoft Rifle Mags
Airsoft rifle mags are most typically used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. Find out how airsoft guns shoot BBs. The magazines are specific to the type of AEG rifle and all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the mags. The AEG magazines are placed into the weapon’s mag well.
About High-Cap LMG Magazines
Some airsoft AEG guns and squad automatic weapons like SAWs use very large capacity magazines. They can hold up to 1000s of airsoft BBs and provide massive amounts of suppressive fire for a squad or fireteam.
Airsoft SMG Mags Details
Airsoft SMG mags AEG are also separated by weapon design and functional between various submachine guns (SMGs). These SMG magazines usually come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity variations with BB storage capacities varying from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity magazines. Rifle Magazines for Green Gas and HPA Systems Green gas rifles (including GBB versions) and guns powered by high pressure air (HPA) typically have their own custom design depending upon the airsoft weapon brand. These mags use air and gas to function so the mags often come with builtin gas reservoirs or are pre-tapped for HPA tank connections. The magazines used in GBB weapons save gas in the mag so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB. HPA pre-tapped mags use HPA lines which are linked to the valves and permit the pressurized air to flow in through the magazine. This setup feeds the airsoft BBs into the HPA weapon.
About Airsoft Handgun Mags
When compared to the AEG magazines used in rifles and SMGs, Airsoft pistol magazines are often less versatile. Handguns mags vary by type and often use CO2 or green gas (propane) kept in the magazine. The magazine is inserted into the pistol’s grip like the standard firearm design. Pistol mags are frequently interchangeable between comparable models of the exact same airsoft weapon producer, however are frequently not cross-brand compatible unless they are particularly developed for that purpose. Understanding the different types of airsoft pistols can give you a better understanding of how their pistol mags work. The majority of airsoft handgun mags store around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
