Information About Airsoft Gun Mags
These magazines typically connect to the airsoft weapon similar to the genuine weapons they are designed after. The types of airsoft gun mags consist of real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines.
Airsoft Weapon Mag Type Information
Airsoft gun magazines can be found in several styles like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags. These types usually relate to AEG mags. Real capacity magazines, or real-caps, mimic the supply of airsoft BBs a real gun would store in bullets, which is normally about 24 to 30 airsoft BBs. Mid capability magazines, or mid-caps, permit more airsoft BB storage with capacities around 120 to 160 BBs. High capacity magazines, or high-caps, offer airsoft players the most storage with over 200 rounds of BB storage volume. One point to take note of about high-cap mags is that airsoft fields commonly regulate their use during games due to players firing way too much ammo to spray and pray throughout gameplay.
Details About How Airsoft Magazines Work
Airsoft magazines have a series of internal channels and BB storage locations. The BBs are usually filled into these channels with a spring attached to the very far end. When the BBs are filled, they compress the spring producing stress. On the load end, a little lock holds the BBs in the mag. When a BB is fired, the airsoft gun launches the lock for a fraction of a second and loads another BB into the weapon out of the mag. HPA, GBB, and CO2 guns, which use high pressure air or green gas, will often store the gas or feed air in through the magazine. This feeds BBs into the guns for these types of systems.
About Airsoft Rifle Mags
Airsoft rifle mags are most often used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. See how airsoft AEGs work. The magazines are particular to the type of AEG rifle and all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the mags. The AEG mags are inserted into the gun’s mag well.
About High-Cap LMG Magazines
Some airsoft AEG guns and squad automatic weapons use high-cap box or drum magazines. They can carry up to 1000s of airsoft BBs and provide massive amounts of suppressive fire for a squad or fireteam during fights.
Airsoft SMG Mags
Airsoft SMG mags AEG are usually separated by weapon design and usable in between various submachine guns. Hecker and Koch H&K MP5 AEG magazines are made to work in different MP5s like the MP5K or MP5SD. P90, KRISS Vector, and TMP AEG magazines are developed to be cross-compatible. These SMG magazines also are available in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity variations with BB storage capacities varying from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity magazines. Rifle Mags for Green Gas and HPA Systems Green gas rifles (including GBB variations) and weapons powered by high pressure air (HPA) typically have their own custom-made style depending upon the airsoft gun brand. These mags use air and gas to function so the magazines often include builtin gas reservoirs or are pre-tapped for HPA tank hookups. The magazines used in GBB weapons accumulate gas in the mag so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB. HPA pre-tapped mags use HPA lines which are attached to the valves and help the pressurized air to flow in through the magazine. This setup feeds the airsoft BBs into the HPA gun.
Airsoft Handgun Magazines Info
Airsoft handgun magazines are frequently less flexible when compared to the AEG magazines used in rifles and SMGs. Many airsoft pistol mags store around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
