Details About Airsoft Gun Magazines
These mags generally connect to the airsoft weapon the same as the genuine weapons they are modeled after. The types of airsoft gun magazines consist of real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines.
Airsoft Gun Magazine Type Info
Airsoft gun magazines come in a few types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags. Real capacity mags, or real-caps, mimic the amount of airsoft BBs a genuine gun would hold, which is typically about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability mags, or mid-caps, allow for more airsoft BB storage with capacities about 120 to 160 BBs.
Airsoft Magazine Functionality Info
Airsoft mags have a series of internal channels and BB storage zones. The BBs are generally filled into these channels with a spring connected to the really far end. When the BBs are filled, they compress the spring creating tension. On the load end, a little lock holds the BBs in the magazine. When a BB is fired, the airsoft weapon releases the lock for an instant and loads another BB into the weapon out of the mag. CO2, GBB, and HPA guns, which use high pressure air or green gas, will often store the gas or feed air in through the mag. This feeds BBs into the guns for these kinds of systems.
Information Airsoft Rifle Mags
Airsoft rifle magazines are frequently used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some kinds of sniper rifles. The mags are relegated to the type of AEG rifle and most of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the magazines. See how airsoft guns function. The AEG mags are placed into the gun’s mag well. M4 style AEG magazines would usually work in all M4 style rifles from a short CBQ weapon with a 10″ barrel made by G&G to a designated marksman rifle (DMR) platform with a 24″ barrel. The same would relate to AK47 AEG mags with swapability between different AK rifle platforms. AEG rifle magazines can store between 60 to 200+ airsoft BBs.
Airsoft SMG Mags
Airsoft SMG magazines AEG are also separated by gun model and usable in between different submachine guns. Hecker and Koch H&K MP5 AEG mags are made to operate in different MP5s like the MP5K or MP5SD. P90, KRISS Vector, and TMP AEG mags are swappable between the same weapon series. These SMG magazines also come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity versions with BB storage capacities ranging from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity magazines. Rifle Mags for Green Gas and HPA Systems These magazines use air and gas to work so the mags often come with builtin gas tanks or pre-tapped for HPA tank connections. The magazines used in GBB guns keep gas in the mag so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB.
About Airsoft Pistol Mags
Airsoft handgun magazines are frequently less flexible when compared to the AEG magazines used in rifles and SMGs. A lot of airsoft handgun mags can hold around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
