Airsoft Gun Mags
Airsoft guns shoot airsoft BBs. These BBs are generally kept in the gun’s mag. These mags normally connect to the airsoft gun very similarly to the real weapons they are imitated. The kinds of airsoft gun mags include real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags.
Airsoft Weapon Mag Types
Airsoft gun magazines are available in a variety of types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines. These kinds most often apply to AEG magazines for automatic electric guns. Real capacity magazines, or real-caps, simulate the quantity of airsoft BBs a real gun would keep in live ammo, which is usually about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability mags, or mid-caps, permit more airsoft BB space with capacities around 120 to 160 BBs. High capacity mags, or high-caps, provide airsoft players the greatest storage with around 200 rounds of BB storage volume. One thing to consider about high-cap mags is that airsoft fields commonly restrain their use during games because they allow players using an excessive amount of ammunition to spray and pray throughout gameplay.
About How Airsoft Mags Work
Airsoft magazines have a series of internal channels and BB storage zones. The BBs are normally packed into these channels with a spring connected to the really far end. When the BBs are packed, they compress the spring creating stress. On the load end, a small latch holds the BBs in the mag. When a BB is fired, the airsoft weapon releases the latch for a fraction of a second and loads another BB into the weapon out of the magazine. CO2, HPA, and GBB weapons, which use high pressure air or green gas, will often keep the gas or feed air in through the magazine. This feeds BBs into the guns for these kinds of systems.
Airsoft Rifle Magazines Details
Airsoft rifle magazines are most frequently used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. Find out how airsoft AEGs shoot BBs. The mags are specific to the type of AEG rifle and all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the mags. The AEG magazines are placed into the gun’s magazine well.
Did You Know?
Some airsoft AEGs and squad machine guns use high capacity drum magazines. They can carry up to thousands of airsoft BBs and provide massive amounts of suppressive fire for a unit or fireteam.
Airsoft SMG Mags
Airsoft SMG mags AEG are also separated by weapon model and functional between various submachine guns (SMGs). These SMG magazines usually come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity variations with BB storage capacities ranging from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity magazines. Rifle Mags for Green Gas and HPA Systems Green gas rifles (including GBB versions) and weapons powered by high pressure air (HPA) typically have their own custom-made design depending on the airsoft gun brand. These mags use air and gas to work so the magazines frequently feature builtin gas storage areas or pre-tapped for HPA tank hookups. The magazines used in GBB guns house gas in the mag so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB. HPA pre-tapped magazines use HPA lines which are linked to the valves and help the pressurized air to stream in through the magazine. This setup feeds the airsoft BBs into the HPA gun.
Airsoft Pistol Mags
Airsoft pistol mags are typically less versatile when compared to the AEG magazines used in smgs and rifles. The majority of airsoft handgun mags hold around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
