Airsoft Gun Magazines Information
Airsoft weapons shoot airsoft BBs. These BBs are normally housed in the weapon’s magazine. These mags generally connect to the airsoft weapon very similarly to the real weapons they are modeled after. The types of airsoft weapon mags include real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags.
Airsoft Gun Mag Types
Airsoft gun mags are available in a number of kinds like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags. These styles most often relate to AEG magazines for automatic electric guns. Real capacity mags, or real-caps, replicate the total of airsoft BBs a genuine gun would hold in ammunition, which is normally around 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability mags, or mid-caps, enable more airsoft BB storage with capacities around 120 to 160 BBs. High capacity magazines, or high-caps, offer airsoft players the greatest storage with over 200 rounds of BB storage volume. One point to consider about high-cap mags is that airsoft fields commonly restrain their use during games due to players shooting an excessive amount of ammunition to spray and pray throughout gameplay.
About How Airsoft Magazines Work
Airsoft magazines have a series of internal channels and BB storage spaces. The BBs are usually filled into these channels with a spring attached to the extremely far end. When the BBs are filled, they compress the spring producing tension. On the load end, a small latch holds the BBs in the mag. When a BB is fired, the airsoft weapon releases the latch for a fraction of a second and loads another BB into the weapon out of the magazine. GBB, HPA, and CO2 weapons, which use compressed air or green gas, will typically save the gas or feed air in through the mag. This feeds BBs into the guns for these kinds of systems.
Airsoft Rifle Magazines
Airsoft rifle magazines are most typically used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. Find out how airsoft guns shoot BBs. The magazines are particular to the type of AEG rifle and all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the mags. The AEG mags are inserted into the gun’s magazine well.
About High Capacity LMG Magazines
Some airsoft AEGs and squad automatic weapons like M249 Bravo SAWs and M60s use very large capacity magazines. They can store up to 1000s of airsoft BBs and provide fire support for a unit or fireteam.
Airsoft SMG Mags
Airsoft SMG magazines AEG are similarly separated by gun design and usable between different submachine guns. Hecker and Koch H&K MP5 AEG mags are made to work in various MP5s like the MP5K or MP5SD. P90, KRISS Vector, and TMP AEG magazines are developed in a similar way. These SMG magazines also can be found in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity versions with BB storage capacities ranging from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity magazines. Rifle Magazines for Green Gas and HPA Systems These magazines use air and gas to work so the magazines often come with builtin gas reservoirs or pre-tapped for HPA tank connections. The mags used in GBB weapons save gas in the mag so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB.
About Airsoft Pistol Magazines
Airsoft handgun magazines are frequently less versatile when compared to the AEG magazines used in smgs and rifles. Most airsoft pistol mags can hold around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
