Airsoft Gun Mags Information
These magazines typically connect to the airsoft weapon very similarly to the genuine weapons they are modeled after. The types of airsoft gun magazines include real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags.
Airsoft Gun Mag Type Information
Airsoft gun mags can be found in a variety of types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags. These styles frequently apply to AEG magazines for automatic electric guns. Real capacity magazines, or real-caps, mimic the quantity of airsoft BBs a real weapon would store in bullets, which is usually about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability magazines, or mid-caps, enable more airsoft BB storage with capacities around 120 to 160 BBs. High capacity magazines, or high-caps, provide airsoft gamers the greatest storage space with around 200 rounds of BB storage volume. Something to take note of about high-cap mags is that airsoft fields usually prohibit their use during games because they allow players using a lot of ammo to spray-and-pray during gameplay.
Information on How Airsoft Magazines Work
Airsoft mags have a series of internal channels and BB storage zones. The BBs are usually packed into these channels with a spring connected to the extremely far end. When the BBs are loaded, they compress the spring creating stress. On the load end, a small latch holds the BBs in the mag. When a BB is fired, the airsoft gun launches the lock for a split second and loads another BB into the weapon out of the magazine. GBB, CO2, and HPA guns, which use compressed air or green gas, will frequently store the gas or feed air in through the magazine. This feeds BBs into the guns for these types of systems.
About Airsoft Rifle Magazines
Airsoft rifle mags are most often used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. See how airsoft guns shoot BBs. The magazines are particular to the type of AEG rifle and all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the magazines. The AEG mags are inserted into the weapon’s mag well.
High-Cap LMG Magazine Info
Some airsoft AEGs and squad automatic weapons like SAWs use high-cap box or drum magazines. They can carry up to 1000s of BBs and provide fire support for a unit or fireteam during engagements.
Airsoft SMG Mags
Airsoft SMG mags AEG are similarly separated by gun design and usable in between various submachine guns (SMGs). These SMG mags usually come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity versions with BB storage capacities ranging from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity magazines. Rifle Magazines for Green Gas and HPA Systems These mags use air and gas to function so the magazines often come with builtin gas reservoirs or pre-tapped for HPA tank connections. The mags used in GBB guns save gas in the magazine so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB.
Airsoft Handgun Magazines
Airsoft pistol magazines are frequently less flexible when compared to the AEG magazines used in smgs and rifles. A lot of airsoft pistol mags store around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
