Airsoft Weapon Mags Information
These magazines usually connect to the airsoft weapon the same as the real weapons they are designed after. The types of airsoft weapon mags consist of real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags.
About Airsoft Weapon Magazine Types
Airsoft weapon mags come in multiple types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines. Real capacity mags, or real-caps, simulate the amount of airsoft BBs a genuine gun would hold, which is generally about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability magazines, or mid-caps, allow for additional airsoft BB storage with capacities about 120 to 160 BBs.
How Airsoft Magazines Work
Airsoft mags have a series of internal channels and BB storage locations. When a BB is fired, the airsoft weapon releases the latch for a fraction of a second and loads another BB into the weapon out of the magazine. CO2, HPA, and GBB weapons, which use high pressure air or green gas, will typically stash the gas or feed air in through the mag.
Airsoft Rifle Mags
Airsoft rifle magazines are most often used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. Find out how airsoft guns shoot BBs. The magazines are particular to the type of AEG rifle and all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the magazines. The AEG magazines are inserted into the gun’s magazine well.
About High-Cap LMG Mags
Some airsoft AEG guns and squad automatic weapons like M249 Bravo SAWs and M60s use very large capacity magazines. They can hold up to thousands of airsoft BBs and provide massive amounts of suppressive fire for a unit or fireteam during fights.
Airsoft SMG Magazines Information
Airsoft SMG mags AEG are similarly separated by weapon model and functional in between various submachine guns (SMGs). These SMG mags also come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity versions with BB storage capacities varying from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity mags. Rifle Mags for Green Gas and HPA Systems These magazines use air and gas to work so the magazines typically come with builtin gas tanks or pre-tapped for HPA tank hookups. The magazines used in GBB guns keep gas in the mag so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB.
Airsoft Handgun Mags Info
Airsoft handgun mags are frequently less flexible when compared to the AEG mags used in smgs and rifles. Most airsoft pistol magazines can hold around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
