Airsoft Gun Mags
Airsoft guns shoot airsoft BBs. These BBs are usually held in the weapon’s mag. These mags usually attach to the airsoft weapon similar to the real weapons they are imitated. The kinds of airsoft weapon magazines include real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines.
Details About Airsoft Weapon Magazine Types
Airsoft gun mags come in a number of types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags. Real capacity magazines, or real-caps, imitate the quantity of airsoft BBs a genuine gun would house, which is generally about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability magazines, or mid-caps, allow for more airsoft BB storage with capacities about 120 to 160 BBs.
Airsoft Mag Functionality Details
Airsoft magazines have a series of internal channels and BB storage locations. The BBs are generally pushed into these channels with a spring attached to the really far end. When the BBs are packed, they compress the spring developing tension. On the load end, a little lock holds the BBs in the magazine. When a BB is fired, the airsoft gun launches the lock for a split second and loads another BB into the gun out of the mag. GBB, CO2, and HPA guns, which use compressed air or green gas, will frequently store the gas or feed air in through the mag. This feeds BBs into the guns for these types of systems.
Airsoft Rifle Magazines
Airsoft rifle magazines are most frequently used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. Learn about how airsoft AEGs shoot BBs. The mags are specific to the type of AEG rifle and all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the magazines. The AEG mags are placed into the weapon’s magazine well.
About High-Cap LMG Magazines
Some airsoft AEG guns and light machine guns, or LMGs, use very large capacity magazines. They can store up to 1000s of airsoft BBs and provide massive amounts of suppressive fire for a squad or fireteam.
Airsoft SMG Mags Info
Airsoft SMG magazines AEG are also separated by gun model and usable between various submachine guns (SMGs). These SMG magazines usually come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity versions with BB storage capacities varying from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity mags. Rifle Mags for Green Gas and HPA Systems Green gas rifles (including GBB variations) and weapons powered by high pressure air (HPA) typically have their own custom-made style depending upon the airsoft gun brand. These mags use air and gas to operate so the mags typically come with builtin gas tanks or are pre-tapped for HPA tank hookups. The mags used in GBB weapons store gas in the mag so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB. HPA pre-tapped mags use HPA lines which are connected to the valves and enable the pressurized air to stream in through the mag. This setup feeds the airsoft BBs into the HPA gun.
Information on Airsoft Handgun Magazines
Airsoft handgun magazines are frequently less flexible when compared to the AEG mags used in rifles and SMGs. Many airsoft pistol magazines house around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
