Airsoft Gun Magazines Information
Airsoft weapons shoot airsoft BBs. These BBs are usually held in the gun’s mag. These magazines usually attach to the airsoft weapon similar to the real weapons they are modeled after. The kinds of airsoft gun mags include real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines.
Information on Airsoft Weapon Magazine Types
Airsoft weapon magazines come in a number of types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags. Real capacity magazines, or real-caps, imitate the quantity of airsoft BBs a real weapon would hold, which is usually about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability magazines, or mid-caps, allow for more airsoft BB storage with capacities around 120 to 160 BBs.
Airsoft Magazine Functionality Information
Airsoft mags have a series of internal channels and BB storage locations. The BBs are normally filled into these channels with a spring connected to the extremely far end. When the BBs are loaded, they compress the spring creating stress. On the load end, a small lock holds the BBs in the mag. When a BB is fired, the airsoft weapon releases the latch for a fraction of a second and loads another BB into the gun out of the mag. GBB, HPA, and CO2 weapons, which use compressed air or green gas, will often store the gas or feed air in through the mag. This feeds BBs into the guns for these kinds of systems.
Information Airsoft Rifle Magazines
Airsoft rifle mags are most often used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. See how airsoft guns work. The mags are particular to the type of AEG rifle and all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the magazines. The AEG magazines are inserted into the weapon’s magazine well.
Did You Know?
Some airsoft AEG guns and squad machine guns use very large capacity magazines. They can hold up to 1000s of airsoft BBs and provide massive amounts of suppressive fire for a squad or fireteam.
Airsoft SMG Mags Info
Airsoft SMG magazines AEG are also separated by weapon model and usable in between various submachine guns. These SMG mags usually come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity variations with BB storage capacities ranging from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity mags. Rifle Magazines for Green Gas and HPA Systems These mags use air and gas to operate so the magazines often come with builtin gas reservoirs or pre-tapped for HPA tank connections. The magazines used in GBB guns keep gas in the mag so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB.
Information on Airsoft Pistol Magazines
Airsoft handgun magazines are frequently less flexible when compared to the AEG magazines used in smgs and rifles. The majority of airsoft handgun mags can store around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
