Airsoft Weapon Magazines
These mags usually connect to the airsoft weapon quite similar to the genuine weapons they are modeled after. The types of airsoft gun magazines consist of real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags.
About Airsoft Weapon Magazine Types
Airsoft gun magazines come in multiple types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags. Real capacity mags, or real-caps, simulate the quantity of airsoft BBs a genuine weapon would house, which is typically about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability mags, or mid-caps, permit for more airsoft BB storage with capacities around 120 to 160 BBs.
Airsoft Mag Functionality Information
Airsoft magazines have a series of internal channels and BB storage zones. The BBs are generally filled into these channels with a spring attached to the extremely far end. When the BBs are loaded, they compress the spring producing stress. On the load end, a little latch holds the BBs in the mag. When a BB is fired, the airsoft weapon launches the lock for a split second and loads another BB into the weapon out of the mag. CO2, GBB, and HPA guns, which use compressed air or green gas, will often save the gas or feed air in through the mag. This feeds BBs into the guns for these kinds of systems.
Airsoft Rifle Mags
Airsoft rifle magazines are most frequently used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. Learn about how airsoft guns like spring, AEG, and green gas rifles shoot BBs. The mags are specific to the type of AEG rifle and all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the magazines. The AEG mags are inserted into the weapon’s magazine well.
About High Capacity LMG Magazines
Some airsoft AEGs and squad machine guns use high capacity box magazines. They can carry up to thousands of airsoft BBs and provide massive amounts of suppressive fire for a unit or fireteam.
Details About Airsoft SMG Magazines
Airsoft SMG magazines AEG are similarly separated by gun model and usable in between different submachine guns (SMGs). These SMG mags usually come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity versions with BB storage capacities ranging from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity magazines. Rifle Magazines for Green Gas and HPA Systems These mags use air and gas to function so the magazines typically come with builtin gas tanks or pre-tapped for HPA tank connections. The magazines used in GBB guns keep gas in the magazine so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB.
Airsoft Handgun Mags
Airsoft handgun magazines are typically less versatile when compared to the AEG magazines used in smgs and rifles. Most airsoft handgun magazines can store around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
