Information About Airsoft Gun Magazines
Airsoft weapons shoot airsoft BBs. These BBs are typically stored in the weapon’s magazine. These mags normally connect to the airsoft weapon very similarly to the real weapons they are imitated. The types of airsoft weapon magazines consist of real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags.
Airsoft Gun Mag Type Information
Airsoft weapon mags come in multiple types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags. Real capacity magazines, or real-caps, mimic the quantity of airsoft BBs a real weapon would store, which is usually about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability mags, or mid-caps, enable for additional airsoft BB storage with capacities around 120 to 160 BBs.
Airsoft Magazine Functionality Information
Airsoft mags have a series of internal channels and BB storage areas. The BBs are normally filled into these channels with a spring attached to the really far end. When the BBs are loaded, they compress the spring developing stress. On the load end, a little latch holds the BBs in the mag. When a BB is fired, the airsoft weapon launches the latch for a fraction of a second and loads another BB into the gun out of the magazine. GBB, HPA, and CO2 weapons, which use compressed air or green gas, will typically save the gas or feed air in through the mag. This feeds BBs into the guns for these types of systems.
Airsoft Rifle Mags
Airsoft rifle magazines are most frequently used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. See how airsoft AEGs work. The mags are particular to the type of AEG rifle and all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the mags. The AEG mags are placed into the weapon’s mag well.
About High-Cap LMG Magazines
Some airsoft AEG guns and squad automatic weapons like M249 Bravo SAWs and M60s use very large capacity magazines. They can hold up to 1000s of airsoft BBs and provide massive amounts of suppressive fire for a unit or fireteam.
Airsoft SMG Magazines
Airsoft SMG mags AEG are similarly separated by weapon design and functional in between various submachine guns (SMGs). These SMG magazines also come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity versions with BB storage capacities varying from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity mags. Rifle Mags for Green Gas and HPA Systems Green gas rifles (including GBB versions) and guns powered by high pressure air (HPA) often have their own custom style depending upon the airsoft weapon brand. These mags use air and gas to operate so the mags often feature builtin gas reservoirs or pre-tapped for HPA tank hookups. The magazines used in GBB weapons house gas in the magazine so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB. HPA pre-tapped magazines use HPA lines which are connected to the valves and enable the pressurized air to stream in through the magazine. This setup feeds the airsoft BBs into the HPA gun.
Airsoft Handgun Magazines Info
Airsoft pistol magazines are often less flexible when compared to the AEG mags used in smgs and rifles. A lot of airsoft handgun magazines can store around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
