Airsoft Gun Magazines Information
These magazines typically attach to the airsoft gun the same as the genuine weapons they are modeled after. The types of airsoft weapon magazines include real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines.
Airsoft Weapon Mag Types
Airsoft gun magazines come in a few types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags. Real capacity magazines, or real-caps, imitate the quantity of airsoft BBs a genuine gun would house, which is typically about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability magazines, or mid-caps, allow for more airsoft BB storage with capacities about 120 to 160 BBs.
Details About How Airsoft Mags Work
Airsoft magazines have a series of internal channels and BB storage spaces. The BBs are usually pushed into these channels with a spring connected to the extremely far end. When the BBs are filled, they compress the spring producing tension. On the load end, a little lock holds the BBs in the magazine. When a BB is fired, the airsoft gun releases the lock for a fraction of a second and loads another BB into the gun out of the mag. CO2, HPA, and GBB guns, which use compressed air or green gas, will often store the gas or feed air in through the mag. This feeds BBs into the guns for these kinds of systems.
Airsoft Rifle Mags Information
Airsoft rifle mags are usually used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some kinds of sniper rifles. The mags are relegated to the kind of AEG rifle plus most of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the magazines. Understand how the inner workings of airsoft weapons shoot BBs. The AEG mags are placed into the weapon’s mag well. For example M4 design AEG magazines would typically operate in all M4 design rifles from a short CBQ gun with a 10″ barrel made by G&G to a designated marksman rifle (DMR) platform with a 24″ barrel. The same idea would relate to AK47 AEG mags with swapability between various AK rifle platforms. AEG rifle mags can store between 60 to 200+ airsoft BBs.
Info on Airsoft SMG Magazines
Airsoft SMG magazines AEG are also separated by gun design and usable between various submachine guns (SMGs). These SMG magazines usually come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity variations with BB storage capacities varying from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity magazines. Rifle Mags for Green Gas and HPA Systems These magazines use air and gas to function so the magazines frequently come with builtin gas tanks or pre-tapped for HPA tank connections. The magazines used in GBB weapons store gas in the magazine so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB.
Airsoft Pistol Mags
Airsoft handgun magazines are typically less versatile when compared to the AEG magazines used in rifles and SMGs. Many airsoft pistol magazines store around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
