Airsoft Weapon Magazines
These magazines generally connect to the airsoft weapon very similarly to the real weapons they are designed after. The types of airsoft gun magazines include real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines.
Details About Airsoft Gun Magazine Types
Airsoft weapon magazines come in multiple types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines. Real capacity magazines, or real-caps, simulate the quantity of airsoft BBs a genuine weapon would store, which is typically about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability mags, or mid-caps, allow for more airsoft BB storage with capacities about 120 to 160 BBs.
Airsoft Mag Functionality Info
Airsoft magazines have a series of internal channels and BB storage locations. When a BB is fired, the airsoft weapon launches the latch for a split second and loads another BB into the gun out of the magazine. HPA, GBB, and CO2 guns, which use high pressure air or green gas, will often keep the gas or feed air in through the magazine.
Airsoft Rifle Mags Info
Airsoft rifle mags are most often used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. See how airsoft guns work. The magazines are specific to the type of AEG rifle and all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the mags. The AEG magazines are inserted into the weapon’s magazine well.
About High Capacity LMG Mags
Some airsoft AEG guns and machine guns use very large capacity magazines. They can store up to thousands of BBs and provide fire support for a unit or fireteam during engagements.
Airsoft SMG Mags Information
Airsoft SMG mags AEG are similarly separated by weapon model and functional between various submachine guns (SMGs). These SMG mags also come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity versions with BB storage capacities ranging from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity mags. Rifle Mags for Green Gas and HPA Systems Green gas rifles (consisting of GBB versions) and weapons powered by high pressure air (HPA) typically have their own custom-made design depending on the airsoft weapon brand. These mags use air and gas to operate so the mags often feature builtin gas storage or pre-tapped for HPA tank hookups. The mags used in GBB guns keep gas in the mag so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB. HPA pre-tapped magazines use HPA lines which are connected to the valves and help the pressurized air to stream in through the mag. This setup feeds the airsoft BBs into the HPA gun.
Airsoft Pistol Mags Info
Airsoft handgun mags are often less versatile when compared to the AEG mags used in rifles and SMGs. Many airsoft handgun mags house around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
