Airsoft Gun Mags Information
Airsoft weapons shoot airsoft BBs. These BBs are generally stored in the gun’s magazine. These magazines usually attach to the airsoft gun similar to the real weapons they are imitated. The kinds of airsoft weapon magazines include real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags.
Airsoft Gun Mag Types
Airsoft gun magazines come in a number of types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines. Real capacity magazines, or real-caps, simulate the quantity of airsoft BBs a real weapon would store, which is typically about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability mags, or mid-caps, permit for more airsoft BB storage with capacities around 120 to 160 BBs.
How Airsoft Mags Work
Airsoft magazines have a series of internal channels and BB storage areas. The BBs are generally pushed into these channels with a spring attached to the extremely far end. When the BBs are filled, they compress the spring producing stress. On the load end, a little lock holds the BBs in the mag. When a BB is fired, the airsoft weapon launches the lock for an instant and loads another BB into the weapon out of the mag. GBB, CO2, and HPA weapons, which use high pressure air or green gas, will often save the gas or feed air in through the mag. This feeds BBs into the guns for these kinds of systems.
Airsoft Rifle Mags
Airsoft rifle magazines are most typically used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. Find out how airsoft guns shoot BBs. The mags are specific to the type of AEG rifle and all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the mags. The AEG mags are placed into the gun’s magazine well.
About High Capacity LMG Mags
Some airsoft AEGs and machine guns use high-cap box magazines. They can hold up to 1000s of airsoft BBs and provide massive amounts of suppressive fire for a squad or fireteam during fights.
Details About Airsoft SMG Magazines
Airsoft SMG mags AEG are similarly separated by gun model and usable in between different submachine guns (SMGs). These SMG mags usually come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity variations with BB storage capacities ranging from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity magazines. Rifle Magazines for Green Gas and HPA Systems Green gas rifles (including GBB versions) and weapons powered by high pressure air (HPA) often have their own custom-made style depending on the airsoft gun brand. These mags use air and gas to work so the mags frequently include builtin gas storage areas or pre-tapped for HPA tank connections. The magazines used in GBB weapons accumulate gas in the mag so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB. HPA pre-tapped mags use HPA lines which are hooked up to the valves and help the pressurized air to stream in through the magazine. This setup feeds the airsoft BBs into the HPA weapon.
Airsoft Pistol Magazines
Airsoft pistol mags are often less flexible when compared to the AEG mags used in smgs and rifles. Handguns mags vary by type and typically use CO2 or green gas (propane) held in the magazine. The magazine is placed into the handgun’s grip like the standard gun design. Pistol mags are often interchangeable in between comparable designs of the same airsoft gun maker, however are often not cross-brand suitable unless they are specifically developed for that purpose. Understanding the various styles of airsoft pistols gives you a better understanding of how their pistol mags differ. Most airsoft handgun magazines store around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
