Airsoft Gun Magazines
These mags typically connect to the airsoft gun quite similar to the genuine weapons they are designed after. The types of airsoft weapon mags include real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines.
Information on Airsoft Gun Mag Types
Airsoft gun magazines are available in a number of kinds like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines. These types most often relate to AEG magazines for automatic electric guns. Real capacity mags, or real-caps, mimic the total of airsoft BBs a real gun would hold in ammunition, which is generally about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability mags, or mid-caps, enable more airsoft BB space with capacities about 120 to 160 BBs. High capacity magazines, or high-caps, give airsoft players the greatest storage with around 200 rounds of BB storage volume. One point to consider about high-cap mags is that airsoft arenas typically limit their usage because of players shooting too much ammunition to spray-and-pray throughout games.
About How Airsoft Magazines Work
Airsoft magazines have a series of internal channels and BB storage spots. The BBs are usually packed into these channels with a spring attached to the very far end. When the BBs are packed, they compress the spring developing stress. On the load end, a little latch holds the BBs in the mag. When a BB is fired, the airsoft gun releases the latch for an instant and loads another BB into the gun out of the mag. GBB, HPA, and CO2 weapons, which use high pressure air or green gas, will often save the gas or feed air in through the magazine. This feeds BBs into the guns for these kinds of systems.
Info Airsoft Rifle Magazines
Airsoft rifle magazines are most typically used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. Find out how airsoft AEGs work. The mags are particular to the type of AEG rifle and all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the magazines. The AEG mags are inserted into the gun’s mag well.
Did You Know?
Some airsoft AEG guns and squad machine guns use very large capacity magazines. They can hold up to thousands of airsoft BBs and provide massive amounts of suppressive fire for a squad or fireteam.
Airsoft SMG Magazines Information
Airsoft SMG mags AEG are usually separated by weapon model and functional in between different submachine guns. Hecker and Koch H&K MP5 AEG magazines are made to work in different MP5s like the MP5K or MP5SD. P90, KRISS Vector, and TMP AEG magazines are developed in a similar way. These SMG mags also are available in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity versions with BB storage capacities ranging from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity magazines. Rifle Mags for Green Gas and HPA Systems Green gas rifles (including GBB versions) and weapons powered by high pressure air (HPA) often have their own custom-made design depending on the airsoft weapon brand. These mags use air and gas to work so the magazines typically feature builtin gas storage or are pre-tapped for HPA tank connections. The mags used in GBB guns store gas in the mag so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB. HPA pre-tapped mags use HPA lines which are attached to the valves and permit the pressurized air to stream in through the mag. This setup feeds the airsoft BBs into the HPA gun.
Airsoft Handgun Mags
Airsoft handgun magazines are often less versatile when compared to the AEG mags used in smgs and rifles. The majority of airsoft handgun magazines house around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
