Airsoft Gun Mags Information
Airsoft guns shoot airsoft BBs. These BBs are usually stored in the weapon’s magazine. These mags usually attach to the airsoft gun very similarly to the real weapons they are modeled after. The kinds of airsoft gun magazines include real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags.
Airsoft Gun Mag Type Information
Airsoft gun mags are made in a few types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines. These styles frequently involve AEG mags for automatic electric guns. Real capacity mags, or real-caps, mimic the amount of airsoft BBs a genuine gun would store in bullets, which is generally about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability mags, or mid-caps, enable more airsoft BB space with capacities around 120 to 160 BBs. High capacity mags, or high-caps, provide airsoft players the greatest storage space with over 200 rounds of BB storage capacity. One point to keep in mind about high-cap mags is that airsoft fields frequently restrain their use during games due to players using way too much ammo to spray-and-pray during games.
How Airsoft Mags Work
Airsoft magazines have a series of internal channels and BB storage locations. The BBs are generally loaded into these channels with a spring connected to the very far end. When the BBs are packed, they compress the spring creating tension. On the load end, a small latch holds the BBs in the mag. When a BB is fired, the airsoft weapon launches the lock for a split second and loads another BB into the weapon out of the mag. HPA, CO2, and GBB guns, which use high pressure air or green gas, will frequently store the gas or feed air in through the mag. This feeds BBs into the guns for these kinds of systems.
Information Airsoft Rifle Magazines
Airsoft rifle magazines are most often used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. The mags are relegated to the type of AEG rifle and all of the kinds of that rifle are cross-compatible with the mags. Learn more about how the inner workings of airsoft weapons shoot BBs. The AEG mags are placed into the gun’s magazine insertion area. M4 style AEG magazines would generally work in all M4 design rifles from a short CBQ weapon with a 10″ barrel made by G and G to a designated marksman rifle (DMR) platform with a 24 inch barrel. The same cross-compatibility would relate to AK47 AEG mags with swapability between various AK rifle platforms. AEG rifle mags can keep between 60 to 200+ airsoft BBs.
Airsoft SMG Mags Info
Airsoft SMG magazines AEG are similarly separated by weapon design and functional between various submachine guns. Hecker and Koch H&K MP5 AEG magazines are made to work in various MP5s like the MP5K or MP5SD. P90, KRISS Vector, and TMP AEG magazines are developed to be cross-compatible. These SMG magazines also come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity variations with BB storage capacities ranging from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity magazines. Rifle Mags for Green Gas and HPA Systems Green gas rifles (consisting of GBB variations) and weapons powered by high pressure air (HPA) typically have their own custom-made design depending upon the airsoft gun brand. These mags use air and gas to function so the mags frequently come with builtin gas storage areas or pre-tapped for HPA tank hookups. The mags used in GBB guns house gas in the mag so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB. HPA pre-tapped mags use HPA lines which are attached to the valves and allow the pressurized air to flow in through the mag. This setup feeds the airsoft BBs into the HPA weapon.
Airsoft Handgun Magazines Information
Airsoft handgun magazines are frequently less flexible when compared to the AEG magazines used in rifles and SMGs. A lot of airsoft pistol magazines house around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
