Details About Airsoft Gun Mags
Airsoft weapons shoot airsoft BBs. These BBs are typically housed in the weapon’s mag. These mags typically connect to the airsoft weapon similar to the genuine weapons they are imitated. The kinds of airsoft gun magazines consist of real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags.
About Airsoft Weapon Magazine Types
Airsoft gun mags are available in a couple of styles like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines. These types frequently relate to AEG magazines for automatic electric guns. Real capacity mags, or real-caps, imitate the amount of airsoft BBs a genuine gun would keep, which is typically about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability magazines, or mid-caps, enable more airsoft BB space with capacities around 120 to 160 BBs. High capacity magazines, or high-caps, provide airsoft players the greatest storage with around 200 rounds of BB storage volume. Something to note about high-cap mags is that airsoft fields typically regulate their usage because they allow players firing a lot of ammo to spray and pray throughout gameplay.
How Airsoft Mags Work
Airsoft mags have a series of internal channels and BB storage areas. When a BB is fired, the airsoft weapon launches the latch for a fraction of a second and loads another BB into the gun out of the mag. HPA, CO2, and GBB guns, which use high pressure air or green gas, will often house the gas or feed air in through the mag.
Airsoft Rifle Mags Details
Airsoft rifle mags are most often used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. The magazines are relegated to the type of AEG rifle and all of the kinds of that rifle are cross-compatible with the magazines. See how the inner workings of airsoft guns shoot BBs. The AEG mags are placed into the gun’s mag insertion area. M4 style AEG mags would normally work in all M4 design rifles from a brief CBQ gun with a 10 inch barrel made by G&G to a designated marksman rifle (DMR) platform with a 24″ like the guns made by ICS or Tokyo Marui. The same idea would relate to AK47 AEG magazines with swapability between different AK rifle platforms. AEG rifle mags can keep between 60 to 200+ airsoft BBs.
Information on Airsoft SMG Magazines
Airsoft SMG mags AEG are usually separated by gun design and usable between various submachine guns. Hecker and Koch H&K MP5 AEG mags are made to operate in different MP5s like the MP5K or MP5SD. P90, KRISS Vector, and TMP AEG magazines are developed to be cross-compatible. These SMG mags also can be found in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity versions with BB storage capacities ranging from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity mags. Rifle Mags for Green Gas and HPA Systems Green gas rifles (consisting of GBB versions) and weapons powered by high pressure air (HPA) often have their own custom-made design depending on the airsoft weapon brand. These magazines use air and gas to function so the magazines often include builtin gas storage areas or are pre-tapped for HPA tank connections. The magazines used in GBB weapons store gas in the magazine so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB. HPA pre-tapped magazines use HPA lines which are hooked up to the valves and help the pressurized air to stream in through the mag. This setup feeds the airsoft BBs into the HPA weapon.
Info on Airsoft Pistol Mags
Airsoft pistol mags are typically less versatile when compared to the AEG mags used in rifles and SMGs. The majority of airsoft handgun magazines can store around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
