Airsoft Weapon Mags
These mags generally connect to the airsoft gun similar to the real weapons they are designed after. The types of airsoft gun magazines consist of real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags.
Details About Airsoft Weapon Mag Types
Airsoft weapon mags come in several types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags. Real capacity mags, or real-caps, mimic the amount of airsoft BBs a genuine gun would house, which is generally about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability magazines, or mid-caps, allow for more airsoft BB storage with capacities about 120 to 160 BBs.
How Airsoft Mags Work
Airsoft mags have a series of internal channels and BB storage areas. When a BB is fired, the airsoft weapon launches the lock for a fraction of a second and loads another BB into the weapon out of the magazine. HPA, GBB, and CO2 weapons, which use high pressure air or green gas, will frequently stash the gas or feed air in through the mag.
Airsoft Rifle Mags
Airsoft rifle magazines are most typically used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. Find out how airsoft guns work. The magazines are specific to the type of AEG rifle and all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the mags. The AEG magazines are inserted into the weapon’s mag well.
About High-Cap LMG Magazines
Some airsoft AEG guns and machine guns use high-cap drum magazines. They can store up to 1000s of airsoft BBs and provide massive amounts of suppressive fire for a squad or fireteam.
About Airsoft SMG Magazines
Airsoft SMG magazines AEG are similarly separated by weapon design and functional between various submachine guns (SMGs). These SMG magazines usually come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity versions with BB storage capacities ranging from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity mags. Rifle Magazines for Green Gas and HPA Systems These magazines use air and gas to operate so the magazines frequently come with builtin gas tanks or pre-tapped for HPA tank connections. The mags used in GBB weapons save gas in the magazine so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB.
Information on Airsoft Pistol Mags
Airsoft handgun mags are frequently less flexible when compared to the AEG mags used in rifles and SMGs. Many airsoft handgun mags can hold around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
