Airsoft Weapon Mags
These mags usually connect to the airsoft gun comparable to the genuine weapons they are designed after. The types of airsoft weapon mags consist of real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines.
Information on Airsoft Weapon Magazine Types
Airsoft weapon magazines come in multiple types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines. Real capacity magazines, or real-caps, imitate the amount of airsoft BBs a real gun would hold, which is typically about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability magazines, or mid-caps, enable for additional airsoft BB storage with capacities around 120 to 160 BBs.
About How Airsoft Mags Work
Airsoft mags have a series of internal channels and BB storage spots. The BBs are generally pushed into these channels with a spring attached to the very far end. When the BBs are loaded, they compress the spring creating stress. On the load end, a little latch holds the BBs in the mag. When a BB is fired, the airsoft gun releases the latch for an instant and loads another BB into the weapon out of the magazine. HPA, GBB, and CO2 guns, which use high pressure air or green gas, will often store the gas or feed air in through the magazine. This feeds BBs into the guns for these kinds of systems.
Airsoft Rifle Mags
Airsoft rifle mags are most often used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. Find out how airsoft guns work. The magazines are particular to the type of AEG rifle and all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the magazines. The AEG mags are inserted into the weapon’s mag well.
Did You Know?
Some airsoft AEG guns and squad automatic weapons like M249 Bravo SAWs and M60s use very large capacity magazines. They can store up to 1000s of airsoft BBs and provide massive amounts of suppressive fire for a squad or fireteam during battlefield engagements.
Airsoft SMG Mags
Airsoft SMG magazines AEG are similarly separated by weapon model and usable between different submachine guns. These SMG mags also come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity variations with BB storage capacities ranging from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity magazines. Rifle Mags for Green Gas and HPA Systems These magazines use air and gas to function so the magazines often come with builtin gas reservoirs or pre-tapped for HPA tank hookups. The mags used in GBB weapons store gas in the mag so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB.
Airsoft Pistol Mags
Airsoft handgun magazines are frequently less flexible when compared to the AEG mags used in rifles and SMGs. Many airsoft handgun mags house around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
