Airsoft Gun Magazines
These mags normally attach to the airsoft weapon similar to the real weapons they are modeled after. The types of airsoft gun mags include real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags.
Airsoft Gun Mag Type Info
Airsoft weapon mags are manufactured in various styles like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines. These kinds usually apply to AEG mags for automatic electric guns. Real capacity magazines, or real-caps, replicate the amount of airsoft BBs a real weapon would keep in shells, which is generally about 24 to 30 airsoft BBs. Mid capability mags, or mid-caps, enable more airsoft BB space with capacities about 120 to 160 BBs. High capacity mags, or high-caps, provide airsoft players the greatest storage space with over 200 rounds of BB storage volume. Something to consider about high-cap mags is that airsoft fields frequently regulate their use during games because they allow players shooting way too much ammo to spray-and-pray throughout gameplay.
How Airsoft Mags Work
Airsoft magazines have a series of internal channels and BB storage locations. The BBs are generally packed into these channels with a spring attached to the really far end. When the BBs are filled, they compress the spring developing stress. On the load end, a little latch holds the BBs in the mag. When a BB is fired, the airsoft gun launches the lock for an instant and loads another BB into the gun out of the mag. GBB, HPA, and CO2 guns, which use compressed air or green gas, will frequently save the gas or feed air in through the magazine. This feeds BBs into the guns for these types of systems.
About Airsoft Rifle Mags
Airsoft rifle magazines are most often used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. See how airsoft guns shoot BBs. The mags are particular to the type of AEG rifle and all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the mags. The AEG magazines are placed into the weapon’s magazine well.
High Capacity LMG Magazine Details
Some airsoft AEG guns and machine guns use very large capacity magazines. They can hold up to thousands of BBs and provide massive amounts of suppressive fire for a unit or fireteam during engagements.
Airsoft SMG Magazines
Airsoft SMG mags AEG are also separated by weapon design and functional between various submachine guns (SMGs). These SMG mags also come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity variations with BB storage capacities ranging from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity mags. Rifle Mags for Green Gas and HPA Systems Green gas rifles (including GBB variations) and weapons powered by high pressure air (HPA) often have their own customized style depending on the airsoft gun brand. These magazines use air and gas to work so the magazines typically feature builtin gas reservoirs or are pre-tapped for HPA tank hookups. The mags used in GBB weapons save gas in the magazine so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB. HPA pre-tapped magazines use HPA lines which are connected to the valves and help the pressurized air to stream in through the mag. This setup feeds the airsoft BBs into the HPA weapon.
Details About Airsoft Pistol Magazines
When compared to the AEG mags used in smgs and rifles, Airsoft pistol magazines are frequently less versatile. Handguns mags differ by type and typically use CO2 or green gas (propane) kept in the mag. The mag is inserted into the handgun’s grip like the basic gun design. Pistol mags are frequently interchangeable in between similar models of the exact same airsoft gun producer, however are typically not cross-brand suitable unless they are specifically designed for that purpose. Understanding the different types of airsoft pistols gives you more insight to how their pistol mags function. Many airsoft pistol mags store around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
