Airsoft Weapon Magazines
These magazines usually connect to the airsoft gun quite similar to the real weapons they are modeled after. The types of airsoft weapon mags include real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines.
Airsoft Gun Mag Type Info
Airsoft weapon mags are manufactured in a number of types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines. These kinds usually relate to AEG mags for automatic electric guns. Real capacity mags, or real-caps, mimic the total of airsoft BBs a genuine gun would store, which is generally around 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability magazines, or mid-caps, permit more airsoft BB storage with capacities around 120 to 160 BBs. High capacity mags, or high-caps, give airsoft gamers the most storage space with over 200 rounds of BB storage volume. One thing to consider about high-cap mags is that airsoft fields usually prohibit their use during games because they allow players using excessive amounts of ammo to spray-and-pray during gameplay.
Airsoft Mag Functionality Information
Airsoft magazines have a series of internal channels and BB storage locations. The BBs are normally pushed into these channels with a spring connected to the really far end. When the BBs are filled, they compress the spring creating stress. On the load end, a little lock holds the BBs in the mag. When a BB is fired, the airsoft gun launches the lock for a split second and loads another BB into the weapon out of the magazine. HPA, CO2, and GBB guns, which use high pressure air or green gas, will typically store the gas or feed air in through the mag. This feeds BBs into the guns for these types of systems.
Information Airsoft Rifle Magazines
Airsoft rifle magazines are most frequently used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. See how airsoft guns work. The mags are specific to the type of AEG rifle and all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the mags. The AEG magazines are placed into the weapon’s mag well.
High Capacity LMG Mag Details
Some airsoft AEGs and squad machine guns use very large capacity magazines. They can carry up to thousands of BBs and provide fire support for a unit or fireteam during fights.
Airsoft SMG Mags
Airsoft SMG magazines AEG are also separated by gun design and usable between different submachine guns. These SMG magazines usually come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity variations with BB storage capacities varying from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity mags. Rifle Magazines for Green Gas and HPA Systems Green gas rifles (including GBB versions) and weapons powered by high pressure air (HPA) frequently have their own custom-made style depending upon the airsoft weapon brand. These mags use air and gas to work so the magazines frequently come with builtin gas storage areas or are pre-tapped for HPA tank hookups. The magazines used in GBB guns house gas in the mag so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB. HPA pre-tapped mags use HPA lines which are hooked up to the valves and allow the pressurized air to stream in through the mag. This setup feeds the airsoft BBs into the HPA weapon.
Airsoft Handgun Mags Info
Airsoft pistol magazines are frequently less flexible when compared to the AEG mags used in rifles and SMGs. Most airsoft handgun mags house around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
