About Morale Patches
Morale patches enable you to embellish your tactical equipment in the field and are camaraderie boosters. These patches are styled around things like film quotes, memes, funny phrases, quips, and other off-the-cuff remarks. The patch design style includes and varies text, images, and graphics.
Morale Patches for Teams
Tactical groups, airsoft groups, and military units generally have a team patch or patch set. If you are a group leader, choose a basic group of patches including a few morale patches which represent your unit. You can use these group patches for team recognition, awards, accomplishments, and rank advancements. It is an excellent method to build comradery within your unit. You can also keep a few spares on-hand for exchanging patches with patch collectors, friendly units, or allied groups.
Campaign Specific Patches
A lot of special missions, military operations, or airsoft competitions generally have their own patches. Unit members or airsoft players who use these patches have the prestige that originates from completing that task, campaign, or mission. When the mission occurred, Mission patches are a great method to highlight who was there.
Patch Attachment
Most morale patches attach to gear, uniforms, tactical vests, and bags using Velcro or hook and loop attachment backing. The hook side is normally found on the back of the patch with the loop attachment side on the vest, bag, or uniform panel. Other kinds of patches include iron-on and sew-on. Iron-on patches use an adhesive glue-like backing which heats up to stick to the placement spot. Sew-on patches must use heavy duty stitching machines and matching thread to connect to a uniform or BDU shirt.
Types of Patch Material
Morale patch material depends upon the maker. The primary front of the patch typically includes embroidered thread or PVC plastic material. The edges of the patch are sewn and the back is typically a Velcro loop backing.
About Miltacusa Morale Patches
Patches like the Stormtrooper USA Flag Rogue Hook Patch by Miltacusa made by the Miltacusa normally hold up quite well. Make sure to trim any loose threads to keep the patch stitching or embroidered patch edges from coming frayed or unraveling. You can attempt to cut or anchor any loose threads to extend the patch’s life expectancy. Anchoring a thread involves taking a needle with the thread through the eye and sewing the thread back into the material several times. Sink the loose end of the thread so it cannot keep unraveling.
Morale Patch Care
It is a good idea to take off Velcro patches before washing because the wear and tear of a washing machine can be hard on the patch. To wash removable PVC patches with Velcro attachments, take off the patch from the equipment.
