About Morale Patches
Morale patches permit you to decorate your tactical equipment in the field and are camaraderie boosters. These patches are styled around things like film quotes, memes, amusing expressions, quips, and other off-the-cuff remarks. The patch design style differs and consists of text, images, and graphics.
Morale Patches for Groups
Tactical groups, airsoft teams, and military units typically have a group patch or patch set. Pick a standard group of patches including a couple of morale patches which represent your unit if you are a team leader. You can use these team patches for group acknowledgment, awards, accomplishments, and rank advances. It is an excellent way to develop comradery within your unit. You can also keep a few spares on-hand for swapping patches with patch collectors, friendly units, or allied teams.
Campaign Specific Patches
Many special missions, military operations, or airsoft competitions normally have their own patches. Unit members or players who use these patches have the reputation that comes from completing that assignment, operation, or mission. Mission patches are a great method to highlight who attended when the mission occurred.
Patch Attachment
Many morale patches attach to equipment, uniforms, tactical vests, and bags using Velcro or hook and loop attachment backing. Stitch-on patches should use heavy duty stitching machines and matching thread to attach to a uniform or BDU shirt.
Types of Patch Material
Morale patch material depends on the maker. The primary front of the patch generally consists of embroidered thread or PVC plastic material. The edges of the patch are sewn and the back is generally a Velcro loop backing.
About ODSP Morale Patches
Patches like the Secret Squirrel Embroidered Morale Patch 3.35 x 2.95 Inch 2PCS made by the ODSP normally hold up pretty well. Make sure to trim any loose threads to keep the patch stitching or embroidered patch edges from coming undone or unraveling. You can try to trim or anchor any loose threads to extend the patch’s longevity.
Morale Patch Care
Many morale patches are machine washable. This includes any patches stitched onto uniforms or connected to gear. It is a good plan to remove Velcro patches before cleaning because the wear and tear of a washing machine can be tough on the patch. To wash removable PVC patches with Velcro attachments, take off the patch from the equipment. Wash with warm soapy water, rub lightly, and pat the patch dry.
