Morale Patches for Teams
Tactical teams, airsoft teams, and military units generally have a team patch or patch set. If you are a group leader, pick a standard group of patches consisting of a few morale patches which represent your squad. You can use these group patches for group recognition, awards, accomplishments, and rank advances. It is a great method to develop camaraderie within your unit. You can also keep a couple of spares on-hand for exchanging patches with patch collectors, friendly units, or allied groups.
Campaign Specific Patches
The majority of special missions, military campaigns, or airsoft tournaments usually have their own patches. Unit members or game players who use these patches have the prestige that originates from finishing that campaign, mission, or task. When the mission happened, Mission patches are a good method to highlight who was there.
Patch Attachment
Many morale patches connect to gear, uniforms, tactical vests, and bags using Velcro or hook and loop attachment backing. The hook side is typically located on the back of the patch with the loop attachment side on the uniform, vest, or bag panel. Other kinds of patches include iron-on and sew-on. Iron-on patches use an adhesive glue-like backing which heats up to stick to the placement spot. Stitch-on patches need to use sturdy stitching machines and matching thread to attach to a uniform or BDU shirt.
Kinds Of Patch Material
Morale patch material depends on the maker. The primary front of the patch generally consists of embroidered thread or PVC plastic material. The edges of the patch are sewn and the back is typically a Velcro loop backing panel.
About PATCHTOWN Morale Patches
Patches like the Retro Red and Black Spartan Helmet Silhouette 2012 Patrol Patch – 2 Round (Sew-on) made by the PATCHTOWN usually hold up quite well. Make sure to trim any loose threads to keep the patch stitching or embroidered patch edges from coming undone or unraveling. You can try to cut or anchor any loose threads to extend the patch’s life expectancy. Anchoring a thread involves taking a needle with the thread through the eye and stitching the thread back into the material numerous times. Sink the loose end of the thread so it cannot keep unraveling.
Morale Patch Care
A lot of morale patches are machine washable. This consists of any patches sewn onto uniforms or attached to gear. It is a good plan to remove Velcro patches before washing given that the wear and tear of a washing machine can be hard on the patch. To clean detachable PVC patches with Velcro attachments, remove the patch from the gear. Wash with warm soapy water, rub lightly, and pat the patch dry.
