About Morale Patches
Morale patches enable you to embellish your tactical equipment in the field and are team morale boosters. These patches are styled around things like movie quotes, memes, amusing sayings, quips, and other off-the-cuff remarks. The patch design style varies and includes text, images, and graphics.
Morale Patches for Groups
Tactical groups, airsoft squads, and military units usually have a group patch or patch set. If you are a group leader, pick a basic group of patches including a few morale patches which represent your unit. You can use these group patches for team recognition, awards, accomplishments, and rank advancements. It is an excellent method to build camaraderie within your unit. You can also keep a couple of spares on-hand for swapping patches with patch collectors, friendly units, or allied groups.
Mission Specific Patches
The majority of special missions, military operations, or airsoft competitions typically have their own patches. Unit members or players who wear these patches have the prestige that originates from finishing that assignment, operation, or mission. When the mission took place, Mission patches are an excellent way to highlight who participated.
Morale Patch Attachment
Many morale patches connect to equipment, uniforms, tactical vests, and bags using Velcro or hook and loop attachment backing. Stitch-on patches should use heavy duty matching thread and sewing machines to attach the patch to a uniform or BDU shirt.
Types of Patch Material
Morale patch material depends upon the manufacturer. The primary front of the patch normally consists of embroidered thread or PVC plastic material. The edges of the patch are sewn and the back is usually a Velcro loop backing panel.
About ODSP Morale Patches
Patches like the PTSD Service Dog DO NOT Distract Tactical Military Morale Badge Emblem Embroidered Fastener Hook & Loop Patches Appliques for Harnesses Vests 3.93 x 1.97 Sized (2PCS) made by the ODSP typically hold up quite well. Make sure to trim any loose threads to keep the patch stitching or embroidered patch edges from coming undone or unraveling. You can try to cut or anchor any loose threads to extend the patch’s life. Anchoring a thread involves taking a needle and sewing the thread back into the material a number of times. Sink the loose end of the thread so it cannot keep unraveling.
Morale Patch Care
Many morale patches are machine washable. This includes any patches stitched onto uniforms or attached to equipment. However, it is a great choice to remove Velcro patches before washing because the wear and tear of a washing machine can be tough on the patch. To clean removable PVC patches with Velcro attachments, remove the patch from the gear. Wash with warm soapy water, rub lightly, and pat the patch dry.
