About Morale Patches
Morale patches allow you to embellish your tactical equipment in the field and are self-confidence boosters. These patches are styled around things like movie quotes, memes, funny sayings, quips, and other off-the-cuff remarks. The patch design style varies and includes text, images, and graphics.
Morale Patches for Teams
Tactical groups, airsoft groups, and military units generally have a team patch or patch set. If you are a team leader, choose a standard group of patches consisting of a couple of morale patches which represent your unit.
Campaign Specific Patches
The majority of special missions, military operations, or airsoft competitions normally have their own patches. Unit members or game players who display these patches have the reputation that comes from completing that assignment, operation, or mission. Mission patches are an excellent way to highlight who attended when the mission occurred.
Patch Attachment
The majority of morale patches attach to equipment, uniforms, tactical vests, and bags using Velcro or hook and loop attachment backing. The hook side is typically located on the back of the patch with the loop attachment side on the bag, vest, or uniform panel. Other types of patches consist of iron-on and sew-on. Iron-on patches use an adhesive glue-like backing which heats up to adhere to the positioning spot. Sew-on patches need to use sturdy sewing machines and matching thread to connect to a uniform or BDU shirt.
Types of Patch Material
Morale patch material depends on the maker. The primary front of the patch normally includes embroidered thread or PVC plastic material. The edges of the patch are stitched and the back is generally a Velcro loop backing.
About Almost SGT Morale Patches
Patches like the Halo ODST Patch- Funny Tactical Military Morale Embroidered Patch Hook Backing(Camouflage-Black) made by the Almost SGT generally hold up quite well. Make certain to trim any loose threads to keep the patch stitching or embroidered patch edges from coming undone or unraveling. You can attempt to trim or anchor any loose threads to extend the patch’s life. Anchoring a thread includes taking a needle and sewing the thread back into the material several times. Sink the loose end of the thread so it cannot keep unraveling.
Morale Patch Care
Many morale patches are machine washable. This includes any patches sewn onto uniforms or attached to gear. It is a great suggestion to remove Velcro patches prior to cleaning because the wear and tear of a washing machine can be tough on the patch. To clean removable PVC patches with Velcro attachments, take off the patch from the gear. Wash with warm soapy water, rub gently, and pat the patch dry.
