About Morale Patches
Morale patches enable you to embellish your tactical equipment in the field and are camaraderie boosters. These patches are styled around things like movie quotes, memes, amusing phrases, quips, and other off-the-cuff remarks. The patch design style varies and includes text, images, and graphics.
Morale Patches for Groups
Tactical teams, airsoft teams, and military units normally have a team patch or patch set. Pick a basic group of patches consisting of a few morale patches which represent your unit if you are a group leader. You can use these group patches for team recognition, awards, accomplishments, and rank advancements. It is a great method to develop comradery within your unit. You can also keep a couple of spares on-hand for swapping patches with patch collectors, friendly units, or allied groups.
Mission Specific Patches
Most special missions, military campaigns, or airsoft competitions generally have their own patches. Unit members or game players who display these patches have the status that comes from finishing that task, operation, or mission. Mission patches are a great way to highlight who was there when the mission took place.
Patch Attachment
Many morale patches attach to equipment, uniforms, tactical vests, and bags using Velcro or hook and loop attachment backing. The hook side is normally found on the back of the patch with the loop attachment side on the vest, uniform, or bag panel. Other types of patches include iron-on and sew-on. Iron-on patches use an adhesive glue-like backing which warms up to adhere to the placement spot. Sew-on patches should use strong matching thread and stitching machines to attach to a uniform or BDU blouse.
Types of Patch Material
Morale patch material depends upon the producer. The primary front of the patch typically includes embroidered thread or PVC plastic material. The edges of the patch are stitched and the back is normally a Velcro loop backing area.
About GrayCell Morale Patches
Patches like the GrayCell Dog Pack Hound Travel Hiking Backpack Saddlebags/Morale Service Dog Patches for Pet Tactical K9 Harness Vest(2) made by the GrayCell normally hold up pretty well. Make certain to cut any loose threads to keep the patch stitching or embroidered patch edges from coming undone or unraveling. You can attempt to trim or anchor any loose threads to extend the patch’s life. Anchoring a thread involves taking a needle and sewing the thread back into the material numerous times. Sink the loose end of the thread so it cannot keep unraveling.
Morale Patch Care
It is an excellent idea to remove Velcro patches prior to cleaning because the wear and tear of a washing machine can be hard on the patch. To wash removable PVC patches with Velcro attachments, take off the patch from the gear.
