Airsoft Weapon Mags Info
Airsoft weapons shoot airsoft BBs. These BBs are generally housed in the gun’s magazine. These magazines normally attach to the airsoft weapon very similarly to the real weapons they are created after. The types of airsoft gun magazines include real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags.
Details About Airsoft Gun Magazine Types
Airsoft gun mags come in multiple types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines. Real capacity magazines, or real-caps, simulate the quantity of airsoft BBs a real gun would store, which is typically about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability mags, or mid-caps, enable for additional airsoft BB storage with capacities around 120 to 160 BBs.
About How Airsoft Mags Work
Airsoft mags have a series of internal channels and BB storage zones. The BBs are typically pushed into these channels with a spring connected to the extremely far end. When the BBs are packed, they compress the spring producing tension. On the load end, a small lock holds the BBs in the mag. When a BB is fired, the airsoft weapon launches the latch for a fraction of a second and loads another BB into the weapon out of the mag. CO2, HPA, and GBB weapons, which use high pressure air or green gas, will often store the gas or feed air in through the mag. This feeds BBs into the guns for these types of systems.
Airsoft Rifle Magazines
Airsoft rifle mags are most often used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some kinds of sniper rifles. The magazines are specific to the kind of AEG rifle and most of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the magazines. Understand how the inner workings of airsoft weapons shoot BBs. The AEG mags are placed into the weapon’s mag insertion area. M4 design AEG mags would normally work in all M4 design rifles from a short CBQ weapon with a 10 inch barrel made by G&G to a designated marksman rifle (DMR) platform with a 24 inch like the guns made by ICS or Tokyo Marui. The same would apply to AK47 AEG magazines with swapability in between various AK rifle platforms. AEG rifle magazines can keep in between 60 to 200+ airsoft BBs.
Airsoft SMG Mags
Airsoft SMG magazines AEG are similarly separated by weapon design and usable in between different submachine guns (SMGs). These SMG mags usually come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity versions with BB storage capacities varying from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity mags. Rifle Mags for Green Gas and HPA Systems Green gas rifles (including GBB variations) and weapons powered by high pressure air (HPA) frequently have their own custom-made design depending upon the airsoft weapon brand. These magazines use air and gas to work so the magazines frequently feature builtin gas storage or pre-tapped for HPA tank hookups. The mags used in GBB weapons accumulate gas in the magazine so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB. HPA pre-tapped magazines use HPA lines which are hooked up to the valves and allow the pressurized air to stream in through the mag. This setup feeds the airsoft BBs into the HPA weapon.
About Airsoft Handgun Magazines
Airsoft handgun mags are frequently less versatile when compared to the AEG mags used in smgs and rifles. A lot of airsoft handgun mags hold around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
