About Airsoft Weapon Magazines
These mags generally attach to the airsoft weapon similar to the genuine weapons they are designed after. The types of airsoft weapon mags include real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags.
Airsoft Weapon Mag Types
Airsoft gun mags come in a few types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags. Real capacity magazines, or real-caps, simulate the quantity of airsoft BBs a real gun would store, which is typically about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability magazines, or mid-caps, enable for additional airsoft BB storage with capacities around 120 to 160 BBs.
How Airsoft Magazines Work
Airsoft magazines have a series of internal channels and BB storage locations. When a BB is fired, the airsoft weapon releases the latch for a fraction of a second and loads another BB into the weapon out of the mag. GBB, HPA, and CO2 guns, which use high pressure air or green gas, will typically store the gas or feed air in through the magazine.
Airsoft Rifle Magazines Info
Airsoft rifle magazines are most typically used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. Find out how airsoft guns shoot BBs. The magazines are particular to the type of AEG rifle and all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the magazines. The AEG magazines are inserted into the gun’s magazine well.
About High Capacity LMG Magazines
Some airsoft AEGs and squad automatic weapons like SAWs use very large capacity magazines. They can hold up to 1000s of airsoft BBs and provide fire support for a squad or fireteam during fights.
Airsoft SMG Mags
Airsoft SMG magazines AEG are also separated by weapon design and usable in between various submachine guns. These SMG magazines also come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity variations with BB storage capacities varying from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity mags. Rifle Mags for Green Gas and HPA Systems Green gas rifles (including GBB variations) and weapons powered by high pressure air (HPA) often have their own customized design depending on the airsoft weapon brand. These magazines use air and gas to function so the magazines typically come with builtin gas storage areas or pre-tapped for HPA tank hookups. The mags used in GBB guns store gas in the mag so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB. HPA pre-tapped mags use HPA lines which are linked to the valves and permit the pressurized air to flow in through the magazine. This setup feeds the airsoft BBs into the HPA weapon.
Airsoft Handgun Mags Details
Airsoft handgun magazines are frequently less flexible when compared to the AEG mags used in rifles and SMGs. Many airsoft handgun magazines can store around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
