Info About Airsoft Weapon Magazines
These magazines generally attach to the airsoft gun quite similar to the genuine weapons they are modeled after. The types of airsoft gun mags include real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags.
Airsoft Weapon Mag Types
Airsoft weapon mags come in multiple types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags. Real capacity magazines, or real-caps, simulate the quantity of airsoft BBs a real weapon would store, which is typically about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability magazines, or mid-caps, permit for more airsoft BB storage with capacities around 120 to 160 BBs.
Airsoft Mag Functionality Information
Airsoft magazines have a series of internal channels and BB storage locations. When a BB is fired, the airsoft weapon launches the latch for a split second and loads another BB into the gun out of the magazine. GBB, HPA, and CO2 guns, which use high pressure air or green gas, will typically store the gas or feed air in through the magazine.
Airsoft Rifle Magazines
Airsoft rifle mags are most often used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some kinds of sniper rifles. The mags are relegated to the kind of AEG rifle plus most of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the mags. See how airsoft guns work. The AEG magazines are placed into the weapon’s mag well. M4 style AEG mags would typically work in all M4 design rifles from a short CBQ weapon with a 10″ barrel made by G&G to a designated marksman rifle (DMR) platform with a 24 inch like the guns made by ICS or Tokyo Marui. The same would apply to AK47 AEG magazines with swapability in between different AK rifle platforms. AEG rifle mags can hold in between 60 to 200+ airsoft BBs.
Airsoft SMG Magazines
Airsoft SMG mags AEG are similarly separated by gun design and functional in between various submachine guns. These SMG magazines usually come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity variations with BB storage capacities varying from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity mags. Rifle Magazines for Green Gas and HPA Systems Green gas rifles (consisting of GBB versions) and weapons powered by high pressure air (HPA) often have their own custom style depending on the airsoft gun brand. These mags use air and gas to operate so the magazines often include builtin gas reservoirs or are pre-tapped for HPA tank connections. The mags used in GBB guns keep gas in the mag so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB. HPA pre-tapped mags use HPA lines which are linked to the valves and help the pressurized air to flow in through the mag. This setup feeds the airsoft BBs into the HPA weapon.
Details About Airsoft Pistol Magazines
Airsoft pistol mags are often less versatile when compared to the AEG magazines used in smgs and rifles. A lot of airsoft pistol mags store around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
