About Morale Patches
Morale patches enable you to embellish your tactical gear in the field and are team comradery boosters. These patches are styled around things like film quotes, memes, amusing sayings, quips, and other off-the-cuff remarks. The patch design style varies and includes text, images, and graphics.
Morale Patches for Groups
Tactical groups, airsoft groups, and military units generally have a group patch or patch set. If you are a team leader, select a basic group of patches including a couple of morale patches which represent your unit.
Campaign Specific Patches
Many special missions, military operations, or airsoft tournaments normally have their own patches. Unit members or players who use these patches have the prestige that originates from completing that mission, task, or tour of duty. When the mission took place, Mission patches are a good method to highlight who attended.
Morale Patch Attachment
The majority of morale patches connect to equipment, uniforms, tactical vests, and bags using Velcro or hook and loop attachment backing. The hook side is typically seen on the back of the patch with the loop attachment side on the uniform, bag, or vest panel. Other kinds of patches consist of iron-on and sew-on. Iron-on patches use an adhesive glue-like backing which heats up to adhere to the positioning area. Stitch-on patches need to use heavy duty matching thread and stitching machines to attach to a uniform or BDU blouse.
Kinds Of Patch Material
Morale patch material depends upon the manufacturer. The primary front of the patch usually includes embroidered thread or PVC plastic material. The edges of the patch are stitched and the back is usually a Velcro loop backing panel.
About Miltacusa Morale Patches
Patches like the Futurama Planet Express Embroidered Iron on Sew on Patch (2.5 inch) made by the Miltacusa generally hold up pretty well. Ensure to cut any loose threads to keep the patch stitching or embroidered patch edges from coming frayed or unraveling. You can attempt to trim or anchor any loose threads to extend the patch’s life expectancy. Anchoring a thread includes taking a threaded needle and stitching the thread back into the material several times. Sink the loose end of the thread so it cannot keep unraveling.
Morale Patch Care
It is an excellent idea to take off Velcro patches prior to washing considering that the wear and tear of a washing machine can be hard on the patch. To wash removable PVC patches with Velcro attachments, remove the patch from the gear.
