About Morale Patches
Morale patches allow you to decorate your tactical equipment in the field and are team comradery boosters. These patches are styled around things like film quotes, memes, amusing sayings, quips, and other off-the-cuff remarks. The patch design style varies and includes text, images, and graphics.
Morale Patches for Teams
Tactical groups, airsoft squads, and military units typically have a team patch or patch set. If you are a team leader, pick a basic group of patches consisting of a few morale patches which represent your unit. You can use these group patches for team acknowledgment, awards, achievements, and rank advancements. It is a great method to develop comradery within your unit. You can also keep a couple of spares on-hand for swapping patches with patch collectors, friendly units, or allied teams.
Campaign Specific Patches
A lot of special missions, military operations, or airsoft tournaments usually have their own patches. Unit members or airsoft players who display these patches have the reputation that originates from finishing that campaign, task, or mission. When the mission occurred, Mission patches are a good way to highlight who was there.
Morale Patch Attachment
A lot of morale patches connect to gear, uniforms, tactical vests, and bags using Velcro or hook and loop attachment backing. The hook side is generally found on the back of the patch with the loop attachment side on the vest, bag, or uniform panel. Other kinds of patches consist of iron-on and sew-on. Iron-on patches use an adhesive glue-like backing which heats up to stick to the placement spot. Sew-on patches should use sturdy matching thread and sewing machines to connect to a uniform or BDU blouse.
Types of Patch Material
Morale patch material depends upon the supplier. The primary front of the patch generally includes embroidered thread or PVC plastic material. The edges of the patch are sewn and the back is usually a Velcro loop backing area.
About Fox Outdoor Morale Patches
Patches like the Fox Outdoor Products Snafu Medical & Morale Patches made by the Fox Outdoor typically hold up pretty well. Ensure to trim any loose threads to keep the patch stitching or embroidered patch edges from coming undone or unraveling. You can attempt to cut or anchor any loose threads to extend the patch’s life. Anchoring a thread includes taking a sewing needle and sewing the thread back into the material a number of times. Sink the loose end of the thread so it cannot keep unraveling.
Morale Patch Care
Many morale patches are machine washable. This consists of any patches sewn onto uniforms or connected to equipment. It is a great idea to take off Velcro patches before washing considering that the wear and tear of a washing machine can be tough on the patch. To wash removable PVC patches with Velcro attachments, remove the patch from the gear. Wash with warm soapy water, rub lightly, and pat the patch dry.
