Airsoft Weapon Magazines Information
Airsoft weapons shoot airsoft BBs. These BBs are generally housed in the gun’s magazine. These mags generally attach to the airsoft weapon similar to the real weapons they are imitated. The types of airsoft gun magazines include real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines.
Airsoft Weapon Mag Types
Airsoft gun mags come in a few types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags. Real capacity mags, or real-caps, simulate the amount of airsoft BBs a real weapon would hold, which is usually about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability magazines, or mid-caps, permit for additional airsoft BB storage with capacities about 120 to 160 BBs.
Airsoft Mag Functionality Details
Airsoft magazines have a series of internal channels and BB storage locations. When a BB is fired, the airsoft weapon launches the lock for a fraction of a second and loads another BB into the gun out of the mag. HPA, CO2, and GBB guns, which use high pressure air or green gas, will frequently keep the gas or feed air in through the mag.
Information Airsoft Rifle Magazines
Airsoft rifle magazines are most frequently used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. See how airsoft guns work. The mags are particular to the type of AEG rifle and all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the mags. The AEG mags are placed into the weapon’s magazine well.
About High Capacity LMG Magazines
Some airsoft AEG guns and machine guns use high-cap drum magazines. They can hold up to 1000s of airsoft BBs and provide fire support for a squad or fireteam during engagements.
Airsoft SMG Magazines Details
Airsoft SMG magazines AEG are similarly separated by gun design and functional in between various submachine guns. These SMG magazines also come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity variations with BB storage capacities ranging from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity magazines. Rifle Magazines for Green Gas and HPA Systems These magazines use air and gas to operate so the mags frequently come with builtin gas reservoirs or pre-tapped for HPA tank connections. The mags used in GBB weapons keep gas in the mag so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB.
Airsoft Pistol Mags Details
Airsoft handgun magazines are often less versatile when compared to the AEG mags used in rifles and SMGs. The majority of airsoft handgun mags can hold around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
