About Morale Patches
Morale patches permit you to embellish your tactical equipment in the field and are team morale boosters. These patches are styled around things like movie quotes, memes, amusing expressions, quips, and other off-the-cuff remarks. The patch design style differs and includes text, images, and graphics.
Morale Patches for Teams
Tactical teams, airsoft teams, and military units usually have a team patch or patch set. If you are a team leader, choose a standard group of patches including a few morale patches which represent your squad. You can use these group patches for team acknowledgment, awards, achievements, and rank advances. It is a great way to grow camaraderie within your unit. You can also keep a couple of spares on-hand for exchanging patches with patch collectors, friendly units, or allied teams.
Campaign Specific Patches
A lot of special missions, military operations, or airsoft tournaments generally have their own patches. Unit members or airsoft players who display these patches have the prestige that originates from finishing that operation, assignment, or mission. When the mission occurred, Mission patches are an excellent method to highlight who participated.
Morale Patch Attachment
Most morale patches connect to gear, uniforms, tactical vests, and bags using Velcro or hook and loop attachment backing. The hook side is usually seen on the back of the patch with the loop attachment side on the uniform, vest, or bag panel. Other types of patches include iron-on and sew-on. Iron-on patches use an adhesive glue-like backing which heats up to stick to the positioning spot. Stitch-on patches should use heavy duty matching thread and sewing machines to attach to a uniform or BDU blouse.
Types of Patch Material
Morale patch material depends upon the manufacturer. The main front of the patch normally consists of embroidered thread or PVC plastic material. The edges of the patch are sewn and the back is usually a Velcro loop backing panel.
