Airsoft Weapon Magazines Information
Airsoft guns shoot airsoft BBs. These BBs are typically housed in the gun’s magazine. These mags typically attach to the airsoft gun very similarly to the real weapons they are created after. The types of airsoft gun magazines include real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines.
Airsoft Weapon Magazine Type Information
Airsoft weapon mags are manufactured in various types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines. These kinds frequently apply to AEG mags for automatic electric guns. Real capacity magazines, or real-caps, simulate the quantity of airsoft BBs a genuine weapon would store, which is generally around 24 to 30 airsoft BBs. Mid capability magazines, or mid-caps, enable more airsoft BB storage with capacities around 120 to 160 BBs. High capacity mags, or high-caps, offer airsoft gamers the most storage with over 200 rounds of BB storage capacity. Something to note about high-cap mags is that airsoft arenas typically restrict their usage due to players firing a lot of ammunition to spray and pray during games.
How Airsoft Magazines Work
Airsoft magazines have a series of internal channels and BB storage spots. The BBs are usually filled into these channels with a spring attached to the extremely far end. When the BBs are loaded, they compress the spring producing stress. On the load end, a little lock holds the BBs in the magazine. When a BB is fired, the airsoft gun launches the lock for a split second and loads another BB into the gun out of the mag. GBB, CO2, and HPA weapons, which use compressed air or green gas, will typically keep the gas or feed air in through the magazine. This feeds BBs into the guns for these kinds of systems.
Airsoft Rifle Mags
Airsoft rifle magazines are most often used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. The magazines are specific to the kind of AEG rifle plus most of the kinds of that rifle are cross-compatible with the magazines. Understand how airsoft weapons function. The AEG mags are inserted into the gun’s magazine well. M4 style AEG mags would usually work in all M4 design rifles from a short CBQ weapon with a 10″ barrel made by KWA to a designated marksman rifle (DMR) platform with a 24 inch like the guns made by ICS or Tokyo Marui. The same idea would apply to AK47 AEG magazines with swapability in between different AK rifle platforms. AEG rifle magazines can store between 60 to 200+ airsoft BBs.
Details About Airsoft SMG Magazines
Airsoft SMG magazines AEG are similarly separated by weapon design and usable in between different submachine guns (SMGs). These SMG magazines usually come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity versions with BB storage capacities varying from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity magazines. Rifle Magazines for Green Gas and HPA Systems Green gas rifles (including GBB versions) and weapons powered by high pressure air (HPA) typically have their own custom style depending upon the airsoft gun brand. These magazines use air and gas to operate so the magazines often include builtin gas storage areas or pre-tapped for HPA tank connections. The mags used in GBB guns house gas in the magazine so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB. HPA pre-tapped mags use HPA lines which are hooked up to the valves and allow the pressurized air to stream in through the mag. This setup feeds the airsoft BBs into the HPA gun.
Airsoft Pistol Magazines
Airsoft pistol mags are often less flexible when compared to the AEG mags used in smgs and rifles. The majority of airsoft pistol magazines store around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
