Airsoft Gun Mags Info
These mags usually connect to the airsoft gun the same as the genuine weapons they are designed after. The types of airsoft weapon magazines consist of real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags.
Information on Airsoft Weapon Mag Types
Airsoft weapon magazines come in several types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines. Real capacity mags, or real-caps, imitate the amount of airsoft BBs a real weapon would hold, which is normally about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability magazines, or mid-caps, allow for more airsoft BB storage with capacities about 120 to 160 BBs.
Information on How Airsoft Magazines Work
Airsoft magazines have a series of internal channels and BB storage areas. When a BB is fired, the airsoft gun releases the latch for a fraction of a second and loads another BB into the gun out of the mag. HPA, GBB, and CO2 weapons, which use high pressure air or green gas, will typically store the gas or feed air in through the magazine.
Airsoft Rifle Mags Details
Airsoft rifle magazines are most typically used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. Find out how airsoft AEGs shoot BBs. The magazines are specific to the type of AEG rifle and all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the mags. The AEG magazines are placed into the weapon’s mag well.
High-Cap LMG Mag Information
Some airsoft AEG guns and squad machine guns use high-cap drum magazines. They can carry up to thousands of airsoft BBs and provide fire support for a unit or fireteam.
Airsoft SMG Mags Details
Airsoft SMG mags AEG are similarly separated by weapon model and usable in between different submachine guns (SMGs). These SMG mags usually come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity versions with BB storage capacities varying from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity magazines. Rifle Magazines for Green Gas and HPA Systems Green gas rifles (including GBB variations) and weapons powered by high pressure air (HPA) typically have their own custom-made style depending upon the airsoft gun brand. These magazines use air and gas to work so the magazines typically feature builtin gas reservoirs or pre-tapped for HPA tank hookups. The mags used in GBB weapons save gas in the magazine so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB. HPA pre-tapped magazines use HPA lines which are attached to the valves and help the pressurized air to stream in through the mag. This setup feeds the airsoft BBs into the HPA gun.
Airsoft Pistol Mags Details
Airsoft handgun mags are often less versatile when compared to the AEG mags used in rifles and SMGs. The majority of airsoft handgun mags hold around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
