Airsoft Gun Mags Information
These mags typically attach to the airsoft weapon very similarly to the genuine weapons they are modeled after. The types of airsoft gun magazines include real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags.
Airsoft Weapon Mag Type Details
Airsoft gun mags come in a number of types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines. Real capacity mags, or real-caps, mimic the quantity of airsoft BBs a genuine gun would house, which is typically about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability magazines, or mid-caps, allow for more airsoft BB storage with capacities around 120 to 160 BBs.
About How Airsoft Mags Work
Airsoft magazines have a series of internal channels and BB storage locations. When a BB is fired, the airsoft weapon launches the lock for a split second and loads another BB into the gun out of the magazine. GBB, CO2, and HPA weapons, which use high pressure air or green gas, will typically store the gas or feed air in through the mag.
Airsoft Rifle Magazines
Airsoft rifle magazines are usually used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some kinds of sniper rifles. The magazines are directly related to the type of AEG rifle plus all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the magazines. Learn more about how the inner workings of airsoft guns shoot BBs. The AEG magazines are inserted into the gun’s magazine insertion area. For example M4 design AEG magazines would typically operate in all M4 style rifles from a brief CBQ weapon with a 10 inch barrel made by G&G to a designated marksman rifle (DMR) platform with a 24″ barrel. The very same would apply to AK47 AEG magazines with swapability in between various AK rifle platforms. AEG rifle magazines can keep in between 60 to 200+ airsoft BBs.
Airsoft SMG Mags
Airsoft SMG mags AEG are also separated by gun design and usable between different submachine guns (SMGs). These SMG mags also come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity variations with BB storage capacities ranging from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity magazines. Rifle Magazines for Green Gas and HPA Systems Green gas rifles (consisting of GBB variations) and weapons powered by high pressure air (HPA) often have their own custom style depending upon the airsoft weapon brand. These magazines use air and gas to operate so the magazines typically feature builtin gas reservoirs or pre-tapped for HPA tank connections. The mags used in GBB guns store gas in the magazine so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB. HPA pre-tapped mags use HPA lines which are attached to the valves and help the pressurized air to flow in through the magazine. This setup feeds the airsoft BBs into the HPA gun.
Airsoft Handgun Mags Info
Airsoft handgun magazines are often less flexible when compared to the AEG magazines used in smgs and rifles. Many airsoft handgun magazines hold around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
