Airsoft Weapon Mags Info
These mags typically connect to the airsoft weapon the same as the genuine weapons they are designed after. The types of airsoft weapon magazines consist of real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines.
Airsoft Gun Mag Types
Airsoft weapon mags can be found in multiple types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags. These types frequently involve AEG magazines. Real capacity magazines, or real-caps, imitate the amount of airsoft BBs a real gun would hold in ammunition, which is usually around 24 to 30 airsoft BBs. Mid capability mags, or mid-caps, permit more airsoft BB space with capacities around 120 to 160 BBs. High capacity mags, or high-caps, provide airsoft players the most storage with over 200 rounds of BB storage volume. One thing to keep in mind about high-cap mags is that airsoft arenas commonly prohibit their usage due to players using a lot of ammo to spray and pray during gameplay.
How Airsoft Mags Work
Airsoft magazines have a series of internal channels and BB storage locations. The BBs are generally loaded into these channels with a spring connected to the extremely far end. When the BBs are loaded, they compress the spring developing tension. On the load end, a small lock holds the BBs in the magazine. When a BB is fired, the airsoft gun launches the lock for a fraction of a second and loads another BB into the weapon out of the mag. CO2, HPA, and GBB weapons, which use high pressure air or green gas, will often save the gas or feed air in through the mag. This feeds BBs into the guns for these types of systems.
Details About Airsoft Rifle Mags
Airsoft rifle mags are most often used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. The magazines are related to the type of AEG rifle and all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the magazines. Learn more about how airsoft weapons function. The AEG magazines are placed into the gun’s mag well. M4 design AEG mags would usually work in all M4 design rifles from a short CBQ weapon with a 10″ barrel made by KWA to a designated marksman rifle (DMR) platform with a 24 inch barrel. The same idea would apply to AK47 AEG mags with swapability in between different AK rifle platforms. AEG rifle mags can store between 60 to 200+ airsoft BBs.
Airsoft SMG Magazines Information
Airsoft SMG magazines AEG are similarly separated by weapon design and functional in between different submachine guns (SMGs). These SMG magazines usually come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity variations with BB storage capacities ranging from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity mags. Rifle Magazines for Green Gas and HPA Systems These magazines use air and gas to operate so the mags often come with builtin gas reservoirs or pre-tapped for HPA tank connections. The magazines used in GBB guns store gas in the mag so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB.
Airsoft Handgun Mags
Airsoft pistol magazines are often less flexible when compared to the AEG magazines used in smgs and rifles. The majority of airsoft pistol mags can store around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
