About Airsoft Weapon Mags
Airsoft guns shoot airsoft BBs. These BBs are usually kept in the weapon’s mag. These mags usually connect to the airsoft weapon similar to the genuine weapons they are created after. The kinds of airsoft weapon magazines include real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags.
Airsoft Weapon Mag Type Info
Airsoft weapon magazines are made in a variety of kinds like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags. These styles usually involve AEG magazines. Real capacity mags, or real-caps, imitate the volume of airsoft BBs a real weapon would keep, which is generally about 24 to 30 airsoft BBs. Mid capability magazines, or mid-caps, permit more airsoft BB space with capacities around 120 to 160 BBs. High capacity magazines, or high-caps, offer airsoft players the most storage space with over 200 rounds of BB storage volume. Something to keep in mind about high-cap mags is that airsoft fields usually restrict their use due to players using too much ammunition to spray-and-pray throughout gameplay.
How Airsoft Magazines Work
Airsoft magazines have a series of internal channels and BB storage spots. The BBs are typically filled into these channels with a spring connected to the extremely far end. When the BBs are filled, they compress the spring developing stress. On the load end, a little latch holds the BBs in the mag. When a BB is fired, the airsoft gun releases the latch for a fraction of a second and loads another BB into the weapon out of the mag. CO2, GBB, and HPA weapons, which use high pressure air or green gas, will typically keep the gas or feed air in through the mag. This feeds BBs into the guns for these kinds of systems.
Airsoft Rifle Magazines
Airsoft rifle mags are usually used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some kinds of sniper rifles. The mags are directly related to the type of AEG rifle and all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the mags. Understand how airsoft guns function. The AEG mags are placed into the gun’s magazine well. M4 style AEG mags would typically work in all M4 design rifles from a brief CBQ gun with a 10″ barrel made by G and G to a designated marksman rifle (DMR) platform with a 24″ barrel. The exact same would relate to AK47 AEG magazines with swapability between different AK rifle platforms. AEG rifle magazines can hold between 60 to 200+ airsoft BBs.
Details About Airsoft SMG Magazines
Airsoft SMG magazines AEG are also separated by weapon model and usable in between different submachine guns. Hecker and Koch H&K MP5 AEG mags are made to operate in different MP5s like the MP5K or MP5SD. P90, KRISS Vector, and TMP AEG magazines are constructed similarly with cross-compatibility. These SMG mags also can be found in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity variations with BB storage capacities varying from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity magazines. Rifle Magazines for Green Gas and HPA Systems Green gas rifles (consisting of GBB variations) and guns powered by high pressure air (HPA) often have their own custom design depending upon the airsoft gun brand. These mags use air and gas to function so the mags often include builtin gas storage or are pre-tapped for HPA tank connections. The magazines used in GBB weapons keep gas in the magazine so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB. HPA pre-tapped mags use HPA lines which are linked to the valves and permit the pressurized air to stream in through the mag. This setup feeds the airsoft BBs into the HPA gun.
Airsoft Handgun Magazines
Airsoft handgun magazines are typically less flexible when compared to the AEG magazines used in smgs and rifles. The majority of airsoft handgun mags hold around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
