Airsoft Gun Mags Details
Airsoft weapons shoot airsoft BBs. These BBs are normally housed in the weapon’s mag. These magazines generally connect to the airsoft weapon similar to the real weapons they are modeled after. The types of airsoft gun magazines include real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags.
Airsoft Gun Mag Type Information
Airsoft weapon magazines come in a number of types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags. Real capacity mags, or real-caps, simulate the amount of airsoft BBs a real weapon would store, which is usually about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability magazines, or mid-caps, enable for more airsoft BB storage with capacities about 120 to 160 BBs.
Airsoft Magazine Functionality Information
Airsoft mags have a series of internal channels and BB storage locations. When a BB is fired, the airsoft gun releases the lock for a split second and loads another BB into the weapon out of the mag. GBB, HPA, and CO2 guns, which use high pressure air or green gas, will frequently hold the gas or feed air in through the magazine.
Airsoft Rifle Mags
Airsoft rifle magazines are most often used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. See how airsoft guns shoot BBs. The mags are specific to the type of AEG rifle and all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the magazines. The AEG mags are placed into the weapon’s mag well.
About High-Cap LMG Magazines
Some airsoft AEGs and squad automatic weapons like M249 Bravo SAWs and M60s use high capacity box magazines. They can hold up to thousands of airsoft BBs and provide fire support for a squad or fireteam during battlefield engagements.
Airsoft SMG Mags Details
Airsoft SMG magazines AEG are also separated by weapon design and functional in between various submachine guns. These SMG mags usually come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity versions with BB storage capacities varying from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity mags. Rifle Mags for Green Gas and HPA Systems Green gas rifles (including GBB variations) and weapons powered by high pressure air (HPA) frequently have their own custom-made design depending upon the airsoft weapon brand. These magazines use air and gas to operate so the magazines often include builtin gas tanks or are pre-tapped for HPA tank connections. The magazines used in GBB weapons house gas in the magazine so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB. HPA pre-tapped magazines use HPA lines which are linked to the valves and enable the pressurized air to flow in through the magazine. This setup feeds the airsoft BBs into the HPA weapon.
Airsoft Pistol Mags Info
Airsoft pistol magazines are typically less flexible when compared to the AEG mags used in rifles and SMGs. Most airsoft handgun magazines can store around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
