Airsoft Gun Mags
Airsoft guns shoot airsoft BBs. These BBs are normally held in the gun’s mag. These magazines normally attach to the airsoft weapon similar to the real weapons they are designed after. The types of airsoft weapon magazines include real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines.
Airsoft Weapon Magazine Type Details
Airsoft weapon magazines can be found in several different kinds like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines. These styles usually involve AEG mags. Real capacity magazines, or real-caps, mimic the amount of airsoft BBs a genuine gun would keep in live ammo, which is normally around 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability magazines, or mid-caps, allow for more airsoft BB space with capacities around 120 to 160 BBs. High capacity mags, or high-caps, provide airsoft gamers the greatest storage with around 200 rounds of BB storage volume. One point to consider about high-cap mags is that airsoft fields often regulate their use during games because of players shooting an excessive amount of ammo to spray and pray throughout games.
How Airsoft Magazines Work
Airsoft mags have a series of internal channels and BB storage locations. When a BB is fired, the airsoft gun launches the latch for a fraction of a second and loads another BB into the gun out of the magazine. CO2, GBB, and HPA weapons, which use high pressure air or green gas, will frequently stash the gas or feed air in through the magazine.
Airsoft Rifle Mags Info
Airsoft rifle magazines are most frequently used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. Learn about how airsoft guns like spring, AEG, and green gas rifles shoot BBs. The mags are specific to the type of AEG rifle and all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the mags. The AEG magazines are inserted into the gun’s magazine well.
About High Capacity LMG Mags
Some airsoft AEGs and light machine guns, or LMGs, use very large capacity magazines. They can hold up to 1000s of BBs and provide massive amounts of suppressive fire for a squad or fireteam.
Details About Airsoft SMG Mags
Airsoft SMG mags AEG are similarly separated by gun model and usable in between various submachine guns. Hecker and Koch H&K MP5 AEG mags are made to work in different MP5s like the MP5K or MP5SD. P90, KRISS Vector, and TMP AEG magazines are constructed similarly with cross-compatibility. These SMG mags also can be found in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity variations with BB storage capacities ranging from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity mags. Rifle Magazines for Green Gas and HPA Systems Green gas rifles (including GBB versions) and weapons powered by high pressure air (HPA) typically have their own custom-made design depending upon the airsoft gun brand. These mags use air and gas to operate so the mags typically come with builtin gas reservoirs or are pre-tapped for HPA tank hookups. The mags used in GBB weapons accumulate gas in the mag so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB. HPA pre-tapped mags use HPA lines which are connected to the valves and help the pressurized air to stream in through the mag. This setup feeds the airsoft BBs into the HPA gun.
Airsoft Pistol Mags Information
Airsoft handgun mags are typically less versatile when compared to the AEG mags used in rifles and SMGs. A lot of airsoft pistol mags can store around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
