Details About Airsoft Weapon Magazines
Airsoft guns shoot airsoft BBs. These BBs are typically held in the weapon’s mag. These mags usually attach to the airsoft gun similar to the genuine weapons they are imitated. The kinds of airsoft weapon magazines include real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags.
Info on Airsoft Gun Mag Types
Airsoft gun mags come in a few types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines. Real capacity magazines, or real-caps, mimic the quantity of airsoft BBs a real weapon would house, which is typically about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability magazines, or mid-caps, enable for more airsoft BB storage with capacities about 120 to 160 BBs.
Airsoft Mag Functionality Details
Airsoft magazines have a series of internal channels and BB storage zones. The BBs are usually packed into these channels with a spring attached to the very far end. When the BBs are loaded, they compress the spring developing tension. On the load end, a small lock holds the BBs in the magazine. When a BB is fired, the airsoft gun launches the lock for an instant and loads another BB into the gun out of the mag. GBB, HPA, and CO2 weapons, which use high pressure air or green gas, will often keep the gas or feed air in through the magazine. This feeds BBs into the guns for these kinds of systems.
Airsoft Rifle Magazines Information
Airsoft rifle mags are most often used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. The magazines are relegated to the type of AEG rifle and most of the kinds of that rifle are cross-compatible with the mags. See how airsoft weapons work. The AEG magazines are placed into the gun’s magazine well. For instance M4 design AEG mags would normally operate in all M4 style rifles from a brief CBQ weapon with a 10″ barrel made by G and G to a designated marksman rifle (DMR) platform with a 24 inch barrel. The same cross-compatibility would apply to AK47 AEG magazines with swapability between various AK rifle platforms. AEG rifle mags can hold in between 60 to 200+ airsoft BBs.
Airsoft SMG Mags Details
Airsoft SMG magazines AEG are similarly separated by weapon design and usable in between various submachine guns. Hecker and Koch H&K MP5 AEG magazines are made to operate in different MP5s like the MP5K or MP5SD. P90, KRISS Vector, and TMP AEG mags are developed in a similar way. These SMG magazines also come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity variations with BB storage capacities varying from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity mags. Rifle Mags for Green Gas and HPA Systems Green gas rifles (consisting of GBB variations) and guns powered by high pressure air (HPA) frequently have their own custom style depending upon the airsoft gun brand. These mags use air and gas to operate so the mags typically include builtin gas storage areas or pre-tapped for HPA tank hookups. The magazines used in GBB guns accumulate gas in the magazine so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB. HPA pre-tapped magazines use HPA lines which are attached to the valves and permit the pressurized air to flow in through the magazine. This setup feeds the airsoft BBs into the HPA gun.
Information on Airsoft Pistol Magazines
Airsoft handgun mags are frequently less flexible when compared to the AEG magazines used in smgs and rifles. Most airsoft pistol mags hold around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
