Airsoft Weapon Mags Information
Airsoft guns shoot airsoft BBs. These BBs are usually stored in the gun’s mag. These magazines typically connect to the airsoft weapon very similarly to the genuine weapons they are designed after. The types of airsoft weapon mags include real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags.
Info on Airsoft Weapon Mag Types
Airsoft weapon mags come in a number of styles like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines. These types usually involve AEG mags for automatic electric guns. Real capacity mags, or real-caps, imitate the supply of airsoft BBs a genuine gun would store in bullets, which is generally about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability magazines, or mid-caps, allow for more airsoft BB storage with capacities around 120 to 160 BBs. High capacity magazines, or high-caps, give airsoft gamers the greatest storage with around 200 rounds of BB storage capacity. One point to consider about high-cap mags is that airsoft arenas often restrain their use because they allow players firing a lot of ammunition to spray-and-pray throughout gameplay.
How Airsoft Magazines Work
Airsoft mags have a series of internal channels and BB storage areas. The BBs are usually packed into these channels with a spring attached to the very far end. When the BBs are loaded, they compress the spring producing tension. On the load end, a small latch holds the BBs in the magazine. When a BB is fired, the airsoft weapon launches the latch for an instant and loads another BB into the gun out of the mag. GBB, HPA, and CO2 guns, which use high pressure air or green gas, will often store the gas or feed air in through the magazine. This feeds BBs into the guns for these types of systems.
Details About Airsoft Rifle Magazines
Airsoft rifle magazines are usually used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some kinds of sniper rifles. The magazines are directly related to the type of AEG rifle and most of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the magazines. See how airsoft guns work. The AEG magazines are inserted into the weapon’s magazine well. M4 style AEG mags would typically work in all M4 style rifles from a brief CBQ gun with a 10 inch barrel made by KWA to a designated marksman rifle (DMR) platform with a 24″ barrel. The exact same would relate to AK47 AEG magazines with swapability between different AK rifle platforms. AEG rifle magazines can store between 60 to 200+ airsoft BBs.
Details About Airsoft SMG Magazines
Airsoft SMG mags AEG are also separated by weapon design and functional between various submachine guns. These SMG mags also come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity variations with BB storage capacities varying from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity mags. Rifle Magazines for Green Gas and HPA Systems These magazines use air and gas to operate so the mags typically come with builtin gas tanks or pre-tapped for HPA tank connections. The magazines used in GBB weapons store gas in the mag so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB.
Airsoft Handgun Mags
Airsoft handgun mags are typically less versatile when compared to the AEG mags used in smgs and rifles. Many airsoft pistol magazines house around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
