Airsoft Gun Magazines Details
Airsoft guns shoot airsoft BBs. These BBs are usually held in the gun’s mag. These magazines usually attach to the airsoft gun very similarly to the genuine weapons they are modeled after. The types of airsoft weapon magazines include real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags.
Information on Airsoft Weapon Magazine Types
Airsoft weapon mags can be found in a few styles like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines. These styles most often relate to AEG magazines. Real capacity mags, or real-caps, mimic the quantity of airsoft BBs a genuine weapon would keep in shells, which is generally around 24 to 30 airsoft BBs. Mid capability magazines, or mid-caps, allow for more airsoft BB storage with capacities around 120 to 160 BBs. High capacity mags, or high-caps, offer airsoft players the most storage space with over 200 rounds of BB storage volume. One point to note about high-cap mags is that airsoft fields often restrain their use because of players firing too much ammunition to spray and pray during gameplay.
Details About How Airsoft Magazines Work
Airsoft mags have a series of internal channels and BB storage areas. The BBs are generally filled into these channels with a spring attached to the extremely far end. When the BBs are filled, they compress the spring developing tension. On the load end, a little lock holds the BBs in the mag. When a BB is fired, the airsoft weapon releases the lock for a fraction of a second and loads another BB into the gun out of the magazine. CO2, HPA, and GBB weapons, which use high pressure air or green gas, will frequently save the gas or feed air in through the mag. This feeds BBs into the guns for these types of systems.
Airsoft Rifle Magazines Information
Airsoft rifle mags are frequently used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. The mags are relegated to the type of AEG rifle and all of the kinds of that rifle are cross-compatible with the magazines. Understand how airsoft weapons work. The AEG mags are inserted into the gun’s magazine insertion area. For example M4 style AEG magazines would normally work in all M4 design rifles from a short CBQ weapon with a 10 inch barrel made by G&G to a designated marksman rifle (DMR) platform with a 24 inch made by Lancer Tactical or Elite Force. The exact same would apply to AK47 AEG mags with swapability in between various AK rifle platforms. AEG rifle mags can hold in between 60 to 200+ airsoft BBs.
Airsoft SMG Magazines Details
Airsoft SMG magazines AEG are similarly separated by gun model and usable between different submachine guns (SMGs). These SMG magazines also come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity variations with BB storage capacities ranging from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity magazines. Rifle Mags for Green Gas and HPA Systems These magazines use air and gas to function so the mags often come with builtin gas tanks or pre-tapped for HPA tank hookups. The mags used in GBB weapons store gas in the mag so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB.
Airsoft Pistol Mags Details
Airsoft pistol mags are often less versatile when compared to the AEG mags used in smgs and rifles. A lot of airsoft handgun mags store around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
