Info About Airsoft Gun Magazines
Airsoft guns shoot airsoft BBs. These BBs are generally held in the weapon’s mag. These magazines usually connect to the airsoft gun very similarly to the genuine weapons they are imitated. The types of airsoft gun magazines include real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines.
Airsoft Gun Magazine Types
Airsoft gun magazines come in a few types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags. Real capacity mags, or real-caps, mimic the quantity of airsoft BBs a genuine weapon would hold, which is usually about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability mags, or mid-caps, permit for more airsoft BB storage with capacities about 120 to 160 BBs.
Airsoft Magazine Functionality Details
Airsoft magazines have a series of internal channels and BB storage zones. The BBs are normally pushed into these channels with a spring connected to the very far end. When the BBs are packed, they compress the spring developing tension. On the load end, a little latch holds the BBs in the magazine. When a BB is fired, the airsoft weapon launches the latch for an instant and loads another BB into the weapon out of the magazine. CO2, HPA, and GBB guns, which use compressed air or green gas, will frequently keep the gas or feed air in through the mag. This feeds BBs into the guns for these types of systems.
Airsoft Rifle Magazines
Airsoft rifle mags are frequently used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some kinds of sniper rifles. The magazines are directly related to the kind of AEG rifle and all of the kinds of that rifle are cross-compatible with the magazines. See how the inner workings of airsoft guns shoot BBs. The AEG mags are placed into the weapon’s mag well. M4 style AEG magazines would usually work in all M4 style rifles from a short CBQ weapon with a 10″ barrel made by G and G to a designated marksman rifle (DMR) platform with a 24 inch like the guns made by ICS or Tokyo Marui. The same idea would relate to AK47 AEG mags with swapability between various AK rifle platforms. AEG rifle mags can hold between 60 to 200+ airsoft BBs.
Airsoft SMG Mags Info
Airsoft SMG mags AEG are usually separated by gun design and functional between various submachine guns. Hecker and Koch H&K MP5 AEG magazines are made to work in different MP5s like the MP5K or MP5SD. P90, KRISS Vector, and TMP AEG mags are constructed similarly. These SMG mags also come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity versions with BB storage capacities ranging from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity mags. Rifle Magazines for Green Gas and HPA Systems These magazines use air and gas to work so the magazines frequently come with builtin gas reservoirs or pre-tapped for HPA tank hookups. The magazines used in GBB guns save gas in the magazine so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB.
Airsoft Pistol Magazines
Airsoft pistol mags are often less versatile when compared to the AEG mags used in smgs and rifles. The majority of airsoft handgun mags can store around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
