Airsoft Gun Mags Information
These magazines normally attach to the airsoft weapon the same as the real weapons they are modeled after. The types of airsoft gun mags consist of real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags.
Airsoft Weapon Mag Types
Airsoft weapon magazines come in a number of types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags. These kinds frequently apply to AEG mags for automatic electric guns. Real capacity mags, or real-caps, mimic the amount of airsoft BBs a genuine gun would keep in live ammo, which is typically around 24 to 30 airsoft BBs. Mid capability magazines, or mid-caps, enable more airsoft BB storage with capacities about 120 to 160 BBs. High capacity magazines, or high-caps, give airsoft gamers the most storage space with over 200 rounds of BB storage capacity. Something to take note of about high-cap mags is that airsoft arenas usually limit their usage due to players firing excessive amounts of ammunition to spray and pray throughout games.
Details About How Airsoft Magazines Work
Airsoft mags have a series of internal channels and BB storage spaces. The BBs are usually filled into these channels with a spring attached to the very far end. When the BBs are packed, they compress the spring producing tension. On the load end, a little lock holds the BBs in the magazine. When a BB is fired, the airsoft gun releases the latch for a split second and loads another BB into the gun out of the mag. CO2, HPA, and GBB weapons, which use compressed air or green gas, will frequently keep the gas or feed air in through the magazine. This feeds BBs into the guns for these types of systems.
Airsoft Rifle Mags Info
Airsoft rifle mags are most frequently used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. See how airsoft AEGs work. The mags are particular to the type of AEG rifle and all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the mags. The AEG magazines are placed into the gun’s mag well.
High Capacity LMG Magazine Information
Some airsoft AEG guns and light machine guns, or LMGs, use high-cap box magazines. They can carry up to thousands of BBs and provide fire support for a unit or fireteam.
Airsoft SMG Magazines Info
Airsoft SMG mags AEG are also separated by weapon model and functional between various submachine guns (SMGs). These SMG magazines usually come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity variations with BB storage capacities varying from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity magazines. Rifle Magazines for Green Gas and HPA Systems Green gas rifles (consisting of GBB variations) and weapons powered by high pressure air (HPA) frequently have their own customized style depending on the airsoft weapon brand. These mags use air and gas to function so the magazines often come with builtin gas storage or are pre-tapped for HPA tank hookups. The mags used in GBB guns save gas in the mag so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB. HPA pre-tapped mags use HPA lines which are linked to the valves and let the pressurized air to stream in through the mag. This setup feeds the airsoft BBs into the HPA gun.
About Airsoft Handgun Magazines
Airsoft pistol mags are often less versatile when compared to the AEG magazines used in smgs and rifles. Many airsoft handgun mags can store around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
