Info About Airsoft Gun Mags
These mags usually attach to the airsoft weapon the same as the real weapons they are modeled after. The types of airsoft gun magazines include real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines.
Airsoft Gun Magazine Types
Airsoft weapon magazines come in a handful of kinds like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines. These kinds most often involve AEG magazines for automatic electric guns. Real capacity magazines, or real-caps, mimic the quantity of airsoft BBs a genuine gun would keep in live ammo, which is usually about 24 to 30 airsoft BBs. Mid capability magazines, or mid-caps, enable more airsoft BB space with capacities about 120 to 160 BBs. High capacity magazines, or high-caps, provide airsoft gamers the greatest storage space with over 200 rounds of BB storage capacity. One point to keep in mind about high-cap mags is that airsoft arenas commonly restrict their use during games because they allow players shooting a lot of ammo to spray and pray throughout games.
How Airsoft Magazines Work
Airsoft mags have a series of internal channels and BB storage areas. The BBs are generally filled into these channels with a spring connected to the very far end. When the BBs are loaded, they compress the spring producing tension. On the load end, a small lock holds the BBs in the mag. When a BB is fired, the airsoft gun launches the latch for an instant and loads another BB into the weapon out of the magazine. CO2, GBB, and HPA weapons, which use high pressure air or green gas, will often save the gas or feed air in through the magazine. This feeds BBs into the guns for these types of systems.
Airsoft Rifle Mags Information
Airsoft rifle mags are most often used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. Find out how airsoft AEGs work. The mags are specific to the type of AEG rifle and all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the magazines. The AEG mags are inserted into the weapon’s mag well.
High-Cap LMG Magazine Facts
Some airsoft AEG guns and machine guns use high capacity drum magazines. They can hold up to 1000s of BBs and provide fire support for a squad or fireteam during battlefield engagements.
About Airsoft SMG Mags
Airsoft SMG magazines AEG are also separated by gun model and functional in between different submachine guns (SMGs). These SMG mags also come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity versions with BB storage capacities varying from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity magazines. Rifle Mags for Green Gas and HPA Systems Green gas rifles (consisting of GBB variations) and weapons powered by high pressure air (HPA) typically have their own customized style depending on the airsoft weapon brand. These mags use air and gas to work so the magazines frequently feature builtin gas tanks or are pre-tapped for HPA tank connections. The mags used in GBB weapons keep gas in the magazine so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB. HPA pre-tapped mags use HPA lines which are attached to the valves and help the pressurized air to flow in through the mag. This setup feeds the airsoft BBs into the HPA weapon.
Info on Airsoft Handgun Mags
Airsoft handgun mags are typically less flexible when compared to the AEG magazines used in smgs and rifles. Many airsoft pistol mags store around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
