Info About Airsoft Gun Magazines
Airsoft guns shoot airsoft BBs. These BBs are typically stored in the gun’s magazine. These mags typically attach to the airsoft weapon similar to the genuine weapons they are created after. The types of airsoft weapon magazines include real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags.
Airsoft Gun Mag Types
Airsoft gun mags are made in a few kinds like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines. These styles frequently relate to AEG mags for automatic electric guns. Real capacity mags, or real-caps, imitate the amount of airsoft BBs a genuine gun would keep in shells, which is typically around 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability magazines, or mid-caps, allow for more airsoft BB space with capacities around 120 to 160 BBs. High capacity magazines, or high-caps, provide airsoft players the greatest storage with over 200 rounds of BB storage volume. One thing to keep in mind about high-cap mags is that airsoft fields commonly regulate their use during games because of players shooting a lot of ammo to spray-and-pray during games.
Info on How Airsoft Magazines Work
Airsoft mags have a series of internal channels and BB storage spaces. The BBs are generally packed into these channels with a spring connected to the very far end. When the BBs are packed, they compress the spring creating tension. On the load end, a little latch holds the BBs in the magazine. When a BB is fired, the airsoft weapon launches the latch for an instant and loads another BB into the weapon out of the mag. CO2, GBB, and HPA weapons, which use compressed air or green gas, will frequently keep the gas or feed air in through the magazine. This feeds BBs into the guns for these kinds of systems.
About Airsoft Rifle Magazines
Airsoft rifle magazines are most typically used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. See how airsoft AEGs work. The magazines are specific to the type of AEG rifle and all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the magazines. The AEG magazines are placed into the gun’s magazine well.
About High Capacity LMG Mags
Some airsoft AEGs and squad automatic weapons like SAWs use high-cap box magazines. They can carry up to 1000s of BBs and provide massive amounts of suppressive fire for a squad or fireteam.
Airsoft SMG Magazines
Airsoft SMG magazines AEG are similarly separated by weapon design and usable between various submachine guns. These SMG magazines usually come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity versions with BB storage capacities varying from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity mags. Rifle Magazines for Green Gas and HPA Systems Green gas rifles (consisting of GBB variations) and guns powered by high pressure air (HPA) typically have their own custom style depending upon the airsoft gun brand. These mags use air and gas to operate so the magazines often come with builtin gas reservoirs or pre-tapped for HPA tank connections. The magazines used in GBB weapons house gas in the magazine so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB. HPA pre-tapped mags use HPA lines which are linked to the valves and permit the pressurized air to flow in through the magazine. This setup feeds the airsoft BBs into the HPA weapon.
Airsoft Pistol Magazines Info
Airsoft pistol mags are typically less flexible when compared to the AEG mags used in rifles and SMGs. A lot of airsoft handgun mags hold around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
