About Airsoft Weapon Mags
Airsoft guns shoot airsoft BBs. These BBs are normally held in the gun’s magazine. These magazines typically connect to the airsoft weapon very similarly to the real weapons they are imitated. The types of airsoft gun mags consist of real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags.
Info on Airsoft Weapon Mag Types
Airsoft gun mags come in a few types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines. Real capacity magazines, or real-caps, imitate the amount of airsoft BBs a genuine weapon would store, which is generally about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability mags, or mid-caps, enable for additional airsoft BB storage with capacities about 120 to 160 BBs.
Airsoft Magazine Functionality Information
Airsoft magazines have a series of internal channels and BB storage spaces. The BBs are normally packed into these channels with a spring attached to the very far end. When the BBs are filled, they compress the spring creating stress. On the load end, a small latch holds the BBs in the magazine. When a BB is fired, the airsoft gun releases the lock for a split second and loads another BB into the gun out of the magazine. GBB, CO2, and HPA weapons, which use high pressure air or green gas, will often save the gas or feed air in through the magazine. This feeds BBs into the guns for these types of systems.
Info Airsoft Rifle Mags
Airsoft rifle magazines are frequently used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some kinds of sniper rifles. The magazines are directly related to the type of AEG rifle and all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the mags. Learn more about how the inner workings of airsoft guns shoot BBs. The AEG mags are inserted into the weapon’s magazine well. M4 design AEG magazines would usually work in all M4 style rifles from a brief CBQ gun with a 10 inch barrel made by KWA to a designated marksman rifle (DMR) platform with a 24 inch like the guns made by ICS or Tokyo Marui. The exact same would relate to AK47 AEG magazines with swapability in between various AK rifle platforms. AEG rifle mags can keep in between 60 to 200+ airsoft BBs.
Airsoft SMG Magazines
Airsoft SMG mags AEG are similarly separated by weapon model and usable between different submachine guns. These SMG mags usually come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity versions with BB storage capacities ranging from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity magazines. Rifle Mags for Green Gas and HPA Systems Green gas rifles (including GBB versions) and guns powered by high pressure air (HPA) frequently have their own custom style depending on the airsoft weapon brand. These mags use air and gas to operate so the mags frequently feature builtin gas tanks or are pre-tapped for HPA tank connections. The magazines used in GBB weapons keep gas in the magazine so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB. HPA pre-tapped magazines use HPA lines which are connected to the valves and allow the pressurized air to flow in through the magazine. This setup feeds the airsoft BBs into the HPA weapon.
Airsoft Pistol Magazines Information
Airsoft handgun mags are typically less flexible when compared to the AEG mags used in smgs and rifles. A lot of airsoft handgun mags house around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
