Airsoft Gun Mags Information
Airsoft guns shoot airsoft BBs. These BBs are normally held in the weapon’s mag. These mags usually attach to the airsoft gun similar to the real weapons they are designed after. The kinds of airsoft gun magazines include real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity mags.
Airsoft Gun Mag Types
Airsoft gun magazines come in a number of types like real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity magazines. Real capacity mags, or real-caps, imitate the amount of airsoft BBs a real weapon would store, which is generally about 24 to 30 BBs. Mid capability magazines, or mid-caps, enable for additional airsoft BB storage with capacities around 120 to 160 BBs.
How Airsoft Mags Work
Airsoft magazines have a series of internal channels and BB storage spots. The BBs are generally filled into these channels with a spring connected to the very far end. When the BBs are packed, they compress the spring producing stress. On the load end, a small lock holds the BBs in the magazine. When a BB is fired, the airsoft weapon launches the latch for a split second and loads another BB into the gun out of the mag. GBB, CO2, and HPA weapons, which use high pressure air or green gas, will often keep the gas or feed air in through the mag. This feeds BBs into the guns for these kinds of systems.
Airsoft Rifle Mags Information
Airsoft rifle magazines are most often used in automatic electric guns (AEGs) and some types of sniper rifles. The mags are directly related to the type of AEG rifle plus all of the types of that rifle are cross-compatible with the mags. Understand how airsoft guns work. The AEG mags are placed into the weapon’s magazine insertion area. For instance M4 design AEG mags would normally operate in all M4 design rifles from a short CBQ weapon with a 10″ barrel made by G and G to a designated marksman rifle (DMR) platform with a 24 inch barrel. The same cross-compatibility would relate to AK47 AEG mags with swapability in between different AK rifle platforms. AEG rifle magazines can store in between 60 to 200+ airsoft BBs.
Info on Airsoft SMG Mags
Airsoft SMG mags AEG are similarly separated by weapon model and usable between different submachine guns (SMGs). These SMG magazines usually come in real capacity, mid capacity, and high capacity variations with BB storage capacities varying from around 24 airsoft BBs with real capacity mags to over 200 BBs with high capacity magazines. Rifle Mags for Green Gas and HPA Systems These magazines use air and gas to function so the mags often come with builtin gas tanks or pre-tapped for HPA tank connections. The mags used in GBB guns keep gas in the mag so the rifle cycles every shot and feeds in the next BB.
Airsoft Handgun Mags
Airsoft handgun magazines are often less flexible when compared to the AEG mags used in smgs and rifles. Most airsoft handgun magazines can store around 20 to 30 airsoft BBs.
